Rear seats in a car as small as the Seicento are all but redundant anyway, let alone when you've got massive Subaru seats! Let's make it a bit more practical, shall we?

Hi Joe, Brilliant video and an excellent modification really looks factory standard, As you can tell I am into modifications as well from the video I sent you, I am the same as your thinking in this they have to look as though they have been factory and not look out of place, I have seen many back seat deletes and yours is the very best I have seen well done

Cool mod! Looks stock, saves weight, improves MPG and you get a little more performance! Win win! You could even recoup some, if not all of your costs by selling the rear seat and seatbelt hardware. 😎👍 Look forward to seeing some more mods-- Cage? You’ve done an ace job of that 👌🏻 but will be interesting to see how you find it in the long run! Had my back seats on the panda out for MOT last year (hadn’t sorted out altering the brackets to make the 500 seats fit, so they didn’t clip in) and so had the seats out just to get it though the MOT Turned out to be a bloody nightmare with moving people around, but was great fun, and even had a couple of picnics in the back on days out 😂 And the weight loss was quite noticeable too in the way it drove! Definitely noisier though!

I built a wooden 'cover' for the back end of my Marina estate many years ago, but it was just below the top of the rear seats, so the rear passengers could place any items on there, the rearmost part lifted with the tailgate, but the whole lot came out if I needed estate car carrying capacity! It worked quite well, but I used timber that was far too heavy for the task! I'd do it differently if I were to try again! :-) Good video Joe, and a very neat job! Well done! :-)

Thanks for the instructional! I've been wanting to do this for my own Sei but couldn't quite figure out how to make it look proper. Also, if you need to travel, get one of those large trunk nets. Stops your luggage from shifting around and looks cool in black or red (Cinq seatbelts are red and fit right in to match!) Greetings from the Netherlands! 🇳🇱

i looked in the boot of a bmw e46 today, the spare wheel retaining bolt in them has a height adjustable boot floor support pad. The bolt threads into the boot floor and a slotted round clamps hold the wheel with a wingnut (so you can use a space saver or a full size wheel) the round pedestal winds onto the top.

Be interesting to see what it does for the noise levels - as far as I can tell the primary function of those back seats is to cut out the noise from the boot. Those rear arches are only single skin and now exposed. Might be your next project running some more carpet up the sides and round the boot opening! Really neat job on the floor though!

A good idea for you to do would be putting insulation in the body panels. You can get some really good sound deadening stuff; but also, winter is coming and you want the car to be warm (it also keeps heat out in summer).
