I disagree. I think when Rebecca is at her worst is when her mental illness has taken over, not drugs. The drugs bring her slightly to a more "normal" frame of mind. Mark used to think the same thing and I believe he was clueless as to the severity of Rebecca's mental illness. Many drugs used to treat mental illness are ones addicts want to use to get high, but they actually treat mental illness when used correctly.

What I receive from this Rebecca is her not having an enabler. Mark really cares about Rebecca and used to fund her EVERYDAY life. Phones, connected her with ppl to get her on track, food, hotel rooms, cash, shopping sprees, etc. He genuinely wants what’s best for her. So he said he had to cut her off, completely. As soon as she’s ready to get herself together, Mark and Cosmo are going to help her get on her feet. I’m here for it all. Fck what everyone else is saying. ISWIS

I agree... all of the homeless addicts need a 100% safe, drug free place to live for a longgggg time. With counseling and medical support, life skills... retraining for society. Then move on to transitional housing. It's a long process to come back to life.

Allot of it WILL take its toll on life out there. No living thing deserves that way of living and dieing. Having to see it and trying to help is taking its toll too. Then there's the preditors who swoop in and take their toll on the vulnerable homeless elderly and youth. All while our Government shifts their eyes to the undocumented aliens and foreign conflicts over seas and spending trillions in order to make millions in personal profits.

As a librarian in a public library, I have met people like Rebecca. You can be kind, but they make their own decisions. The worst is the predators who abuse and take advantage of people with cognitive or mental illnesses. The last SWU video with her is tragic to see. You know something/someone bad got to her.

Yes, Jay, and please try to do it again...thank you for getting him food. His other addiction is Dr Pepper...just so u know, could be a good bribe for another interview. REBECCA would spill his soul for a 6 pak of Dr Pepper and a pack of smokes. He is a savant(brilliant) under all that mentally illness and drugs...sometimes u catch that.. bring him a Dr pepper in yr bag already ready for him when u see him next and see what happens. This is crazy. I thought Miami was crazy with homeless people because I am a former fentanyl addict myself and I was homeless for many years but I lost my husband of 16 years to a fentanyl overdose which scared me straight. I've got almost 3 years clean and sober. Now I have my own place. I'm doing great and to look at this and know that's how I used to live is just sickening. I can't believe that when I was on drugs that I just settled for that. This is heartbreaking

You can always tell the worth of a person by the way they treat the most vulnerable. The same goes for our government, city officials and the richest of all. They could help those who need it; provide housing, mental health/healthcare and addiction services but they don’t. Just millions into policing and pushing them further down into this specific place.. ignoring them and criminalizing them. Treating them as if they aren’t human. So many acting like they aren’t two steps away from being in this position. The state of the world today- it doesn’t take much. We need more empathy in 2024.

You have a very idealistic view of this. For example, Mark has tried to arrange housing and rehab for Rebecca several times. Rebecca refused rehab and was thrown out of housing for being sexually inappropriate. There are programs available but people like Rebecca need to want to get clean and comply with the rules of society.

@@NativeVirgo, Do you have any clue how many people Mark has helped? I'm not talking about all the people who have come to him, YES, they come to him to tell their story. I'm talking about those who watch swu. Those underage people, and no they have not all been girls, came to him. He has allowed the world to see what you don't want us to see. You want, apparently, for all of his subscribers to continue to judge in ignorance those they walk past everyday, Yet, all of them have a story to tell. Not one of those people woke up one day and wished to live on the streets. Through Mark's videos, people are able to see and understand that could be a loved one. You have a narrow understanding of exploitation. For many of the folks who ask to be on Mark's channel, they want their story to be told. That's not exploitation. Going to a strip club, to see a woman display her body for your sexual arousal. That's exploitation. To seek out anyone to use their body and soul for your gratification, that's exploitation.
