Erm. Isn't the point of adblue to reduce nitrous emissions and not co2?!? That's why it's only on diesel engines.

Correct. It is used to lower NOx emissions because a diesel operates most efficiently when it is producing the highest amount of NOX, therefore it needs to be scrubbed from the exhaust emissions using ammonia water and SCR catalyst

thank you for taking the trouble to explain this issue rebecca. i can understand why techs don't want to explain it . the matter gets on everyones nerves. its similar to petrol additives . except it needs to be used constantly . that's why there is a separate tank in the car for it . ps your outfit is eyewatering. thoroughly enjoyed the video . keep up the good work. xo

Hi Rebecca, I have an a class on motability. Do the dealers top up the adblue as part of the deal. And also I think my car needs some wipers, are they included in the motability package to be replaced ...

Hi Rebecca, I have been watching your videos for some time ,I just bought a Benz recently which didn’t have a satnav SD card so I can’t use navigation,I am not sure which card to purchase,It’s 18 plates E class diesel . I will be really thankful if you could help, thanks

Hi so our Mercedes adblue sign keeps popping up and has done it lots of time. we have sent it in and they have tried to reset it but seems to not be working. Also it has said that it will break down if we don't get it fixed we have put adblue in it but when we sent it in ,and a week later it pops back up again and we are thinking of getting a new car because the warranty is almost up in that case we would have to spend a large amount of money getting it fixed which is rediculess ,so pls could you tell me what is going on thank you

What Rebecca should have said is DON’T fill up at the supermarket/garage. MB adblue systems don’t like third party liquids and will cause your problems. Fix is to drain, flush and refill with MB fluid.

It's not expensive, I just bought 10 litres for 20 quid, and that will last for many thousands of miles. For a Merc owner, £20 for every 10-15K miles is not much

its to help burn the diesel more effectively . you are living in an age of traffic congestion with too much stop start driving .

@@colincasey4678 No add blue goes into a separate tank which is then supplied to your exhaust system to reduce your Co2 emissions.

Ah right and how is that is there a separate pump for the ad blue? What is ad blue made from

@@colincasey4678 On my Mercedes there is a separate fill cap that I pour Ad Blue into that ad blue container, I am not sure what the chemical is made of. I am sure google or the manufacture will have the info you are looking for.
