Thanks! Trying to make sure I respond to all comments. Apparently interaction is a huge thing with the KZfaq algorithm, so here I am 5 months later saying thanks! :)

Been watching all your videos on this build, it's to the point I want to say it now. Get you a nice little impact wrench, the Milwaukee m12 3/8 stubby (a fantastic tool) atleast or somthing. It would have helped you alot thus far and getting those bolts out of the connecting rods so you didnt have to put them in a vice. Sounds like you got it thou. Goodjob👍. Love the build, I've been likeing the 461 builds. This is good motivation for working on my project car.

Yeah, an impact tool is definitely on my Christmas wish list. Appreciate the recommendation. I will look into the Milwaukee drills. Glad you are enjoying the videos so far. Going to be a long winter up here in the north, good time to work on projects.

Film your progress. It helped me when I wasn't sure exactly how something went back together on my setup and I could rewind to when I disassembled it. Nice way to document the work done if you do sell it later

@@DoItMyselfGarage Yea i was thinking that exact thing. Video taping disassembly and all of it really would help alot. Rather I put it on KZfaq or not. Great idea👍.

I love it when brand new "Car guys" attempt to all the sudden become Motorheads the thinking is how hard can it be to assemble a motor .. Sure buy a stroker crank & Rods don't you even worry about the clearancing .. Yea Call Butler so they know your a complete Novice ...

Fortunately there are places like Butler to help. My engine is still running great considering a novice put it together.

If it leaks I may have to go back and replace it. Thanks for watching and for the advice. This was my first rebuild in many many years.

I was using it, but didn't show very much in filming. Realized that I didn't show it when I was editing.

Who did your machine work in MN?
@DoItMyselfGarage
@DoItMyselfGarage Жыл бұрын
I had the block work done at Auto Value in St. Cloud. They have a machine shop in the back with very experienced machinists. I had the heads done by Hot Heads by Frank in Coon Rapids.

Who put the cam bearings in ? And who clean engine for assembly?
@DoItMyselfGarage
@DoItMyselfGarage Жыл бұрын
I had my local machine shop do the block cleaning, boring, honing and they installed the cam bearings also. Auto Value St. Cloud MN...it was a National Bushing machine shop before they got bought out. Very skilled machinists. Local guys recommended them for what I was having done. Was very happy with the results.

@@DoItMyselfGarage so you just give Butler your bore measurements and they match everything
@DoItMyselfGarage
@DoItMyselfGarage Жыл бұрын
@@tommywebb5345 Yes, I knew that my engine still had the standard bore and what I needed to bore it out to for their kit. Cam bearings were installed by the machine shop. I included one of the Pistons along with the SPECS from Butler so there wasn't any question about the bore size. I only had them take a skim cut on the deck. Everything else was the complete kit from Butler. Pistons, crank, bearings. I had to figure out which Pistons to use which is affected by heads your target compression ratio. If you call them or send them an email through their page, I'm sure that they will be more than happy to help you. It was definitely a learning experience, but I was given enough help that I had most everything figured out before I even ordered.

what´s not the way do do it; -put the lower tube in correctly, then just slide the windagetray over it and bolt down !

Thanks for the reply. This is my first time doing this. It is mounted securely, but I'm sure there was a better way to do it. Thanks for watching.
