You got those sensors correct boss! I'll add a few more details in case anyone is interested. The crank trigger wheel (11:20 ) has two missing teeth to indicate TDC. The ECU is then calibrated with an offset (mech to elec offset) of the sensor to the actual TDC to determine Cylinder 1 TDC. The ECU then uses the remaining teeth to calculate RPM. I didn't see a cam sensor on the top so I'm guessing this bike uses intake pressure to determine which phase of the combustion cycle its on. Super cool to see this stuff torn down, good luck!

Make sure when you put the head back together to put the cam cover, valve shims , and valve caps back to their original location. Also, there’s a bolt sequence to follow with removing the head bolts as well as when you’re installing them back. There’s a torque sequence when torquing down the head bots, you will need a torque wrench that torques in degrees as well.

Big project but rewarding! Note: Magneti Marelli is an Italian brand of electronics. e.g they make the ECU for MotoGP bikes very good and expensive stuff. Keep up the god work.

Cara você é muito corajoso, para desmontar todo esse quebra cabeças e depois montar as peças cada uma no seu lugar, essa é a primeira vez que trabalha numa MV Agusta. Vamos aguardar e quero ver você pilotando essa maravilha.

I'd be worried about the alternator and starter motor. The insulation of the windings is THIN and doesn't need a lot of heat to melt and ruin the motors. Also the rubber seals keeping the engine block tight. It might not leak oil when cold, but a hot engine with oil pressure could easily make it leak. Actually just all the seals on the rear of the engine most likely have taken heat damage. It's gonna be a nice build, but that is something that could/will cause problems. Better check it out now with the engine free of the frame.

I wouldn't bother taking the the head off I doubt weather it would warp as the enginge get pretty hot any how, my main concern would be the clutch cover gasket and output shaft oil seal, that thing you took off that'd next to the small sprocket is the clutch slave cylinder, hi from UK. D

Ford actually using the same valvetrain setup we call the "buckets" tappets. Ford uses tappets with a different thickness instead of the shim. But I like the shim better. Because you can have a bunch of those instead of a ton of tappets. Very interesting design for sure

The middle piece is the cylinder jug(where your pistons move up and down). The piece with the crank wheel is your pulse sensor for ignition. The transmission sensor is your neutral and possibly gear display if it has that function on the dash. The master cylinder with the rod is actually for the clutch, it pushes on the clutch rod which in turn pushes on the throw out bearing in your clutch assembly on the other side of the case(there should be two clutch rods generally). The sensor on the bottom is more than likely for oil pressure, a knock sensor would not be mounted there.

CJ, Watch your gaskets and any rubber seals after the fire damage. I'd be concerned that anything rubber/paper/even metal based gaskets are comprised and you'll develop leaks. The engine ideally should be taken all the way down and rebuilt, but if you're going piecemeal, watch the shifter seal, countershaft seal, cylinder to bottom end gaskets, etc

CJ, please do us a favor and at least buy an Alu rod instead of that rebar rod. Some years ago I was at my friend's garage where he stored his Cagiva Mito 125 in a similar manner and I was clumsy and scratched my shin quite deeply. He doesn't like blood and almost fainted, hehe. Plus it messes up the rear wheel axle. Anyway good to see some progress on that MV Agusta✌🏻
