That would be dope he did find a better battery pack. Now that would be crazy!😅

Used to work on the body assembly line at McLaren in Woking and the rear sub frame was measured onto the car. Re-bolting the car back on will be interesting as the rear suspension fixing points were all measured to +- 1mm. So much gets bolted onto something else on the rear sub frame so needs to be exact for reassembly of the whole back end.

Hey Freddie, at first I was a little disappointed that the hybrid system had to go, but after watching Rich's video on the logistics of the P1's hybrid tech and what it would take to get the system working even as well as it did from the factory. I agree that it makes no sense to do anything with the hybrid system besides take it out and save the weight. If there's anything I could suggest, it's to use the IPAS button on the wheel to instead stand for "Insanely Powerful Anti-lag System", if you catch my drift. I hope more people go and watch Rich's video on everything because his explanation clarified so much about the P1. Can't wait for the next part to come out!

Everyone saying you gonna unsubscribe or lost interest in his whole channel, just because of 1 really smart decision, really just need to not comment at all lol. I don’t know much about anything close to these guys on this car or any car for that matter, just that it looks cool and sounds sick asf lol. But having watched tavarish since the pimp my ride car I’ve seen him make a lot of decisions he regretted and on the other side is happy in. So I trust that this was the best decision and doesn’t change my interest in this build. I mean the main goal was to get the P1 running again and if he can in some cases better. Some of you guys seemed to set a self expectation of him restoring it OEM condition? That was never possible in the first place nor was he going to do that lol. And some people that are well knowledgeable in this argue removing the hybrid does make the car preform better so not really much of a loss so don’t see the big hoorah and hive mind thinking in this comment section.

@cowsarecool2233
@cowsarecool2233 6 ай бұрын
Its not that he doesn't want to do the challenges, think about it financially, a new system is around 160k, and if you watch rich rebuilds video regarding this, you would realize that compared to todays standards on modern technology, the hybrid system isnt really good. It'll only give a small boost of 170hp for a time that depends on how long a button is pressed and how long the battery is charged, making it not really efficient. It also added weight which is another reason why he made this decision
@Mattspips
@Mattspips 6 ай бұрын
I get that part too, but Tavarish is also in a unique spot in that the more unique and complicated the build, the more interesting the videos are, and hopefully that leads to more views and subscribers? @@cowsarecool2233 couldn’t he make his own hybrid system with off-the-shelf parts? Or maybe hire a consulting electrical engineer to do a custom job if the task is too complex? @@cowsarecool2233 I think a mid engined twin turbo V8 hyper car is way less interesting and special than a hybrid hypercar. The former has already been done many times already, with plenty of great factory and tuner examples. Meanwhile with a hybrid hyper car the P1 is one of only 5 examples if I’m not mistaken. And it’s not like the P1 had to have a weight reduction because it needed more speed. Stock the car is faster than most people are physically able to drive. Why improve on something that’s more than perfect? I really don’t get the direction Tavarish is taking this project. But having said all of that, this is not my car or my money. No my guess is lack of money (because he under estimated the damage\costs) or lack of time because he is committed to some company to SEMA. Of course it's his car, he can do hat he wants with it. When he talks about how he wants it to be faster then all other P1's and wants to make the "best version of the P1", and then does something like this, removing a crucial part of what makes it a P1, people's reactions are 120% valid. Everyone feels this way because of the expectations he set. This just doesn't feel good. That was my biggest reason that I thought this car was not rebuildable. It's your car and you build it the way you want it. Use the little Boost Button on the dash to shoot Nitrous into the system. That will give you that extra HP that the Electric Hybrid system used to. Removing that rear subframe and cleaning all the sand out is a great idea because the aluminum will continue to corrode if exposed to salt and rain water.

We can all be armchair critics here, Hybrid System / Non Hybrid System what does it matter. But the one thing that is important and does matter is that this P1 is going to be saved, without Tavarish this would just have ended up as a parts car, or crushed. It is not our money putting this back on the road, so we have no right to criticise the decisions Tavarish makes regarding the rebuild. If you don't like it go watch something else. Its absolutely your car and your build, I just feel like youre missing out on a really big component that makes the P1 a P1 and made it special. Even I feel bad saying its the biggest mistake. Trouble is, he might lose more money replacing the battery and everything else concerned. I know he makes good on the videos, but you have to set a limit and not go over it to be successful. I don't get it, it puzzles me why he bought it in the first place, it had been to see the Titanic. I hope he doesn't lose viewers, that would be a shame. Good luck to him either way, he's a lovely bloke.

Im sure he was more disappointed than you. After all its gonna be a lot of work and effort to do that, not to mention probably 200k or more. But hey, if yall want that you can always donate on a gofund me to pay for it.

Honestly Freddie yeah the car might not have been originally designed without the hybrid assembly it is part of what made it the holy trinity, but I personally love your decision it will make it unique and for of a true successor to the F1 in my eyes keep up the good work and don't listen to the haters

Bro removing the Hybrid System is the best decision ever. That hybrid system is too old and too heavy for the modern standards. If possible add a secondary fuel tank connected with the primary one but with the ability to use it by choice. Also hope you'll upgrade the interior too. Keep up the good work!

No hybrid system, kinda new engine, new body, new computer… What made this re-build interesting is driving away. It is now just a build based on a P1 chassis. And even at the end of it I would not be surprised this is changed as well. That was really high price to pay to finally build a kinda kit car.

If getting rid of the hybrid system makes the car faster and more reliable whilst making the build more affordable I’m all for it. I can’t wait to see what kind of 4 figure horsepower Frankenstein build you guys come up with 🔥🔥🔥🔥

This project is mad, and I'm so inspired by your courage and go-getter attitude Tavarish! I'm confused about the washing part though, or rather, why you didn't disassemble the entire car before you washed the tub? Would've thought after removing the doors and the front frame, it would've been easier to maneuver the tub so that it wouldn't become a bath, but rather more easily drain out all the sand and other gunk (for example in the intakes)? Looking forward to checking out the next part!
