That stick is such a great idea. So funny how a no nonsense simple idea could actually make a huge advantage. Was watching the “alone” series which is my version of trash tv. People who were struggling for clean water but had plenty of rain would have done well with that

Even though i am now too old to do this, i have to say, having done this in my younger years, that your channel, Corporals Corner, is one of the best, why? Because you actually take the time to explain what shelter, etc, you are going to make and how you are going to make it along with all the items required to make that shelter. Then fire, very important as i love to watch the Food cooking aspect of these videos as well. Im an ex British Soldier of the '80's living in the Netherlands and really enjoying your posts. Keep them going please.

Im temporarily homeless so this helps alot. One of the the best survivalist/bushcraft/camping channels on youtube. I made an a-frame tarp lastnight and have another tarp and thick foam pad as a bed, along with a 30°F sleeping bag. Right now im working a job and nobody knows im homeless. Money goes alot further like this and this camping bushcrafting is really growing on me so that i dont know if i would actually want to get my own place when i have the money. Lol. Im an unconventional homeless guy because i dont use drugs or drink or steal but i work and keep my clothes and self clean. Plus i stay clean shaven and comb my hair in such a way that nobody would suspect im living in the woods.

Thanks for showing the lashings for extending your ridge pole to rest onto a Y with a stick to lock the back from slipping. Great idea. You can't always pick the lengths of poles in the wild, but you can adjust by lashing 2 together for added length to get the right pitch for the tent. I will try to remember that! Lots of good info here for rigging the tent and the fire cook layout. Great job!

I like this one. Yes, it was in the rain and all but I learned and I saw you do something that my family thinks I'm weird for doing. I tuck under the tarp as well. If done right, any rain would hit that fold and follow it around rather than run right under the tarp and you wake up freezing. I liked the piece of wood in the tarp loop to drip water into your canteen. I do something like that when draining grease out of my pans. Nice pan, I didn't think anyone uses those anymore. I might have to make a plan to go camping with the family soon my gear has been put up for too long.

I love your simple easy meal recipes. I think it very helpful for lots of people. Love the tarp tent designs also. Don't have a bbq grill, just make one out of sticks. Kool.

I like that gorilla tape trick, I always a a roll of that in my truck, Fine steel wool works too. This stuff reminds me of my Boy Scout days back in the mid-1960s, we learned all kinds of useful stuff, and 57 years later its still useful!

Whenever weather called for rain, I / we would dig trenches around our tent or sleeping area when using tarps, allowing the water to travel around us
