I always love watching your book reviews 💕 I find Shintoism so fascinating! I love the idea that everything has a soul, or spirit. I’ll definitely have to check out The Kami Way. I think you’d like the Iron Crown because the dragons have a Shintoism quality 😆 Yes! I’m so excited you’re working on a new Japanese folklore video!!!! ❤ I’m proud of us for finally getting to oDaL. Now we just need to finish it 😂

Ahh yay!!! Really looking forward to our deep dive! 🥰 Winnie the Pooh is truly wonderful, I haven’t read it in many years and maybe it’s time to change that 🧐 Slightly sad you didn’t love The Last Tale of the Flower Bride 😢 but I get it! I definitely wasn’t as invested in the Bridegroom chapters and that bogged things down a bit. And yeah some of the metaphors didn’t work 😂 I really need to sit down and read Yumi. The illustrations are so pretty I want to give them the attention they deserve but I’ve been finding it hard to read physically the last couple of months so it’s been on the back burner 😩 Great wrap up! I always enjoy hearing about books I’ve never seen before!

Me too!! I feel like we both have so much to day :) Again, thank youf or being so flexible and understanding 💕 Do ittt!! It can only be a new positive I believe 🥰In the same way you can understand my criticisms, I can completely see why you loved it! I get this! When you have a book that pretty you want to give it the attention it deserves. But I think Yumi is a really accessible story. It may be a good place to fall back in love with physical reading again 👀 When we both come from the same base taste, I think the new books we see the other enjoy can be a great way to expand our reading comfort zones!

Totally agree Tress is the best of the secret projects. And so happy you loved every moment of The Winnowing Flame. The ending of that trilogy was so good

Even though I was already well up to date through all the vlogs, I still loved this cosy wrap-up!! I forgot to ask the last time you talked about that Shinto book though, does Hayato practice any religion himself? Just curious, also fine if you don't want to share!! Anyway, I am suuuuper looking forward to the Winnowing Flame series review 🤩And you are making me want to reread Nettle & Bone so badly!! 🤣🥲

You’re the best 💕 thanks for watching all my content Esmay! Truly 🥹 He doesn’t! His relationship to Shinto is very much what I mentioned here as a typical Japanese view of it. He respects the spaces where kami spirits are supposed to reside, and follows the customs baked into daily life, but praying/ making offerings isn’t a practice he really follows. Winnowing Flame is coming soon I hope!! I’m finding it hard due to the fact I live sit so much…I find I can’t articulate everything in the way I want to 😭😫 Do it!!! It would be like a half a day for you at your super human speed 😉
