I just had my aortic valve replaced and it was no big deal. I was in on Tuesday and released on Wednesday and I feel great! I had heart murmur my whole live. I had a shortness of breath and was tired all the time. Now I breath easier and ready to tackle the world.

@Catalyst87 which causes me to have a high heart rate which they say it's palpitations and anxiety and the doctor said I was born like that with the valve that doesn't open correctly which is aortic stenosis brother but still gotta live each day to survive and help others who may be suffering more then me like this brothers here who have worser aortic stenosis live well, eat well,be well, and to end it not having health is not having happiness in a person or animal brother

I am currently slated for an Ablation, hopefully to cure the AFIB I acquired 5 years ago..My main cardiologist does not think I need to worry about my aortic valve, although it is moderately-almost seriously blocked. The Ablation may or may not relieve my shortness of breath, and tired feelings. so I am wondering if my valve should be done first!...Reluctantly, my Cardiologist referred me to a heart specialist that is an ultimate expert with aortic valve, including doing the TAVR procedure. At this point, I am thinking that my valve has to be replaced, before doing the Ablation...We shall see!

I have aoritc stenosis, but Im not sure how severe my symptoms are. Its hard to compare with others. I feel some heavy breathing just now writing this text. But I hva been tested thoroughlly, and Im just on the "above the surface", so to speak. Anyone been through this who would explain how the symptoms manifest themselves? thx!

I'm wondering why one has to wait so long for surgery for valve replacement for aortic stenosis,when I had breast cancer, I was operated on 3 weeks after diagnosis!
@rodneyjones7078
@rodneyjones7078 3 жыл бұрын
because to a 20 year old, the longer you wait the less risky the surgeries become. problem is when the symptoms hit at 40-50 they create a scenario where the lack of energy has got them behind in many aspects of life and therefore planning a surgery or seeing the doctor is a can they can only continue to kick down the road.

@Catalyst87 well when I go for a check up with my doctor I do order him well tell him to give me a complete physical check up comrade and if I have something wrong I do actually obligate him to give me further studies and I have a minor aortic stenosis but they say it's minor that I could live like that and I don't need surgery because my heart functions normally they say so yep I'm kind of worried and I go to the physiciatric or what ever the name because they tell me I have anxiety problemsbro

I personally feel that major insurance companies have convinced doctors to wait a very long time to do procedures...It all comes down to money!

You said aortic stenosis occurs independent of lifestyle, and in that sense it is similar to atherosclerosis. You contradicted yourself because atherosclerosis is the thickening or hardening of the arteries caused by a buildup of plaque in the inner lining of an artery. Risk factors: high cholesterol and triglyceride levels, high blood pressure, smoking, diabetes, obesity, physical activity, and eating saturated fats.
@Bpjames
@Bpjames 2 жыл бұрын
I was wondering about that myself, since arterial issues are very much lifestyle related. If the advancememt of atherosclerosis can be halted or even reversed, why not this?
@rayshoesmith
@rayshoesmith 8 ай бұрын
Wrong! Plaque doesmt stick to the arteries, it permiates through the artery and pushes it closed. Also appo B is the cadiac risk marker not cholesterol. My cholesterol is five times what it should be and at my last fat attenuation index and cac score was zero (new born baby arteries was the term the consultant used). Dietary cholesterol has no negative influence on lipid profiles, ive proved this on myself. The worst thing that alters my individual profile is sugar, refined carbs and alchol.

I just found out that I have aortic stenosis, it wasn’t to long ago when I started feeling chest pains shortness of breath etc, When I first experienced these chest pains I thought nothing of it until it started getting worse, I listening to my heartbeat feeling uneasy about it and did research about it finding that out.
