You have to RESTART everything if you first do your setup and then realise that background audio is turned off in Cubasis. I’ve had my sessions glitch out completely when I’ve tried turning background audio on after doing the setup. If that happens, then it is simpler and less frustrating to just do it all from scratch. 😅👍🏼

Loved it. I was trying to get amplitude to record with the IAA in Cubasis but it would not record. Was driving me insane. Now I see I need to use AUM instead.

Ok I should of watched your Cubasis video. I just figured out how use the AmpliTube IAA to record a track. I don’t need to use AUM. It’s the routing button I needed to use. Thanks for The AUM way of recording too.

Hi Jakob, how do you record IAA midi into Cubasis, f.ex. from Future drummer?

the only thing that would need to improve is matching up the start of the recording with the start of AUM. Maybe there is a way but I haven't figured it out yet.

I know this is a year old but if you wanna make perfect example 8 bar stems you have to set the Sync Quantum to 8 bars arm the rec on all tracks and hit record on transport twice. Hit it then once it starts hit it again.

Jakob, you are the man! I A question for you. As this is two years ago, and there has been some updates in Cubasis 3. I would like to be able to use koala as a plug-in inside Cubasis - Without the added strain of a UM, my desire is to use koala sampler similarly to the way simpler and drum rack function in Ableton live, if that makes sense. I’ve been finding it difficult to adjust to cubasis, it’s my first traditional daw. I was recording tracks in AUM and then playing with them in audacity on the computer. Hi Haq, when I activated ‘play’ from AUM top left corner like you did, it didn’t trigger the tracks. Why? What am I doing wrong or not doing right? For example, I have two tracks opened in AUM, one for NS2 and the other FM TiNES. In the output I have IAA1 and IAA2 respectively. In CB3 I I have tracks opened correctly. I should be able to play from AUM.

1:32 The only problem with recording straight into AUM is when you press stop all reverb tails, delays, etc get cut off right at that point. Unless there is a work around using AUM only that I’m unaware of.

Hey Jacob. This Is what I was trying to do last night. I'm using a behringer404. I'm recording stereo input (an MP3 playing from my phone) (in ports12+2 on the interface). I have a slot for that in AUM. Also I have a slot for Minimoog (port3). I'm using a midi keyboard (usb'd in to the interface, connected to iPad with the CCK). Both strips in AUM are set to REC. I can hear everything playing, AUM is hearing all sources. But after I finish recording, I go in to Files in AUM and see it's recorded 2 separate tracks. Is there a way to record into just 1 final recording?

Can this be done in NS2?

How to sync the start of both apps?

Do the tracks in AUM have to armed as well? Does this not create 2 copies of the files (one in AUM and in the Cubasis session), or does it only send to Cubasis? As in with the audio routed out to Cubasis it won’t just work for any audio playing in AUM unless it is also armed?

Is there a way to select whether you record a mono or stereo track from AUM into Cubasis? Couldn’t find anything after some digging.

Anyone know why if I set up a midi channel to trigger my external synth in AUM it works fine but if I do the same routing in Cubasis 3 the synth isn’t triggering at all? Input is keystep set to all channels and output is set to Digitakt to all channels, Keystep hardware channel is 1, which in AUM triggers the first track but in Cubasis, nothing

Jakob, I would like to make backing tracks with apps(drum,synths,keys etc) and be able to use my real bass and guitar instruments to loop with these apps. I don’t know what to use or how to do it. I watch people with ableton but it’s not available as iOS app. What is an app that might do this. I’m an old dog trying to do new tricks. HEEEELLLLPPPPPP!!,!!

..well, i set up a few midi-routed 1 finger triggered sample players & synth Sunrizer, Gadget Madrid J Bass triggered by midi kB,..&recorded in AUM,...save to wav/ folder ect....IT OPENS UP A WHOLE NEW GALAXY OF SOUNDS FOR ME TO 1 finger trig my own SEQUENCES MADE IN STEP- sequencer apps n just arose,.. I even accidentally played two synths synced in AUM from two diff apps,...what a texture of layers it made! I will use it in GB,...wait until CB is on holiday sale, ..use it in cb2,...stems Can be synched and export/imported, lined up...makes GB more useful, if u get tired of their loops, even if u can e$it then loop them,...easier, to play own phrase,...but, tricky! I also failed 2 or 3rd set up,..u really, have to try a lot of stuff. So, thx, think I am getting AUM now, better, Jakob, FYI Now, I went and found something u might find fun. U know that fine new Uno drummer u showed us? So i am under the impression that IAA is going away. Were you not the one I heard say it was now deprecated? If this is the case would we lose this ability? Any idea if two hosts can still be linked using some AUv3 technique, or if there will be another method? Maybe I’ve misunderstood the IAA connection and something of it will still remain?

Is there a reason to route it to cubasis? I mean why not record in AUM and move the multie track files to cubasis? That way you can have it all on the grid, starting from the start
