Congrats on 2nd place overall in the Moab 240, that's AWESOME!!! And thanks for the comprehensive round-up. Very interesting point about the foot bathing and having taken that learn from Jeff Browning, especially considering Sally McRae tore her feet up (they looked raw from her video footage).

I've been binge watching your channel for a while now and what you said about the Racing Namibia winner Rob Ripley that you are looking to be that strong in twenty years when you are sixty, I just turned forty and you are that person to me, I want to be as strong as you at my age. Thanks for the inspiration. Run safe.

I remember that quote. And it made me hopeful that hey I can be like that too when I'm older if I put in the work now. So inspiring. Will be 40 in a few years and I'm already planning to run a trailrun on my 40th. 😊

pretty sure you need a foot manicure after running so many 200+ mile races. Ecuador sounds tasty. I admire your appreciation for the Americas, unlike many US based trail running podcasters/vloggers, who only minimally cover it here or there.

Can Moab videos be like Georgia episodes and Namibia episodes.? ❤ Also congratulations!🎉 So proud of your accomplishments Jeff. Anytime I am on a trail in North Vancouver and trail runners pass by I'm always like "is that Jeff training?"

Another great update - thanks. One technical point about the video - a couple of times the music came in louder than I'd expected. The first time (I think it was while you were talking about AG1?) I thought another window had opened on my computer and I went looking for it, before realising where it was coming from. A similar level was at the end. Something to polish, perhaps?

I've had the Nix patch for a while now, and I can confirm it's not very accurate. Yes, it shows you sweat more when you're sweating more, but that should be pretty obvious to most people anyways! I think the electrolyte calculation is a total blind dart throw. Is it better than nothing? Maybe, but I feel like just listening to the body and recognizing when you need more fluid is probably a better tool. Love the video as usual, Jeff!

I tested my Nix device in the spring and compared it head to head with professional sweat tests and pre/post weigh-ins. It always underestimated my sweat loss significantly and that threw off the salt loss calculations too. In fact, I don't know anyone that can prove they're getting accurate results from the Nix patch. It's unfortunate as the idea behind it is great and it would be awesome to do a race and have realtime results. Sadly, it's not there yet.

Looking forward to the Moab film. Question: How much of the Moab success do you put down to your few days of R&R in my home town of Castelldefels? Next time you're over, I'll show where the good coffee is in town. All the very best

I hate resting, I could never run anywhere that distance anyway but if I could the resting afterwards would drive me mad, I rarely go over 20 miles for that reason

If you train for and race 100+ miles, you probably wouldn't mind resting so much. You might just enjoy it! 😉

What gaiter do you use with the slab ultras? I love mine but hate that sand always gets in at the front of the shoe, between the tongue and the eyestay...
