Red Dead Redemption 2 gameplay time!
First time playing Red Dead Redemption 2.
The story is set in a fictionalized representation of the United States in 1899 and follows the exploits of Arthur Morgan, an outlaw and member of the Van der Linde gang, who must deal with the decline of the Wild West while attempting to survive against government forces, rival gangs, and other adversaries.

Pretty much sums up the style of play here. The entire group is celebrating getting Jack back and Answer is looting the house for a pack of smokes.

yknow guys, i find it best to not think too much on this game lol. there's a stranger? approach em! weird noise? find where it came from! the only downside of having a bad stranger encounter is death, your money's gonna be just fine :D the upside of these stranger encounters? a fun little adventure on the side~ and you gotta remember that being trigger happy is not always the answer in this game

Couldn't agree more. Sure, something "bad" might happen, but that's part of the game, and it's still fun. This whole "I think we should pop 'em" attitude is causing them to miss out on so much content

If you guys wanna talk about what just happened, save those thoughts until after the characters are done talking. And a drawer with nothing in it will still be there in the morning, the time to participate and sing along celebrating Jack's return only happens once. It's been said before but it's worth repeating, you're missing out on important character moments.

I'm a bit sad Oak didn't get to hear little Jack's accounting of how he felt while being "kidnapped". I'd definitely watch those few sentences back around 37:00 if you can see this. It'll add some depth to the story.

I can tell the investment in the story isn’t there. They start and end every episode with almost no conversation about the characters or plot.

The moment you guys missed Sean’s welcome back party I knew you would miss Jack’s welcome back party… disappointing nonetheless. Those open world events add so much to the game and story and no other game comes close to doing them so well.

Guys please be on the lookout for dialogue. This game doesn’t spoonfeed everything in cutscenes, you can miss whole character arcs if you‘re not paying attention. Jacks welcome back party is not the time to get a haircut. Been loving your playthrough, looking forward to next time:)

Don’t worry about things taking too much time and us being bored watching you guys, anyone watching you guys most likely have played this game themselves and love watching people play it… yes the story is amazing but the game is huge and if you don’t explore and do the side quests and stranger missions than your missing out on half the game!!!!!

I started (and finished a week ago) playing the game because they started it. Played it for the first time by the way, and it quickly became the single best game I've ever played. On the other hand, EVEN IF it's boring for some, for now, knowing they've done the "side stuff" (most of which really shouldn't even be called side stuff tbh) will hugely pay out. Both for them, and for anyone watching. Thinking back, the side stuff is what made me emotionally invested the most throughout the main story. It's a very weird mix I've never felt before. EDIT: Well. I have. It's an actual emotion, that doesn't normally translate on screen at all, but would be spoiler to mention.

Guys that party had so much foreshadowing and background story you missed. If you ever play this on your own there is a phenomenal scene at the party if you pay attention. But I do enjoy your interactions. It is really fun watching you play.

Yeah I was disappointed that they didn't join in. They did the same back in Horseshoe Overlook after rescuing Seán and missing out on one of the funniest scenes in the game.

They miss so much at the camp. They just don't get immersed in the game enough sometimes. Answer pretty much hates the gang.

@ev1Lsect I stated that I hit sprint when I shouldn't have and then said I hit R2 as to why I shot. I wasn't blaming the buttons but the fact that I shouldn't have hit them to cause me to sprint and shoot.

Honestly enjoying the playthrough, it's hilarious. But please take time to pay more attention to the story and characters, when they talk to Arthur and each other! Think of the game as a movie, with plot points and character arcs that you need to discover! You'll miss out on these elements if you skip out on spending time with the gang and listening to dialog. It would be neat to hear your thoughts on the story and characters as you progress.

Guys need to stop talking during the dialogue. You miss out on important conversations such as little Jack talking to Dutch on the way back from Bronte. You miss out on John Marston and his feelings of being a proper father. You've missed out on a lot of conversations that are important to the story.

@@ev1Lsect I disagree. In the beginning, yeah, they didn't care much. But after they learned that the story was an integral part of the game, they care a lot more. Of course there might be things they miss, but they do get the overall plot.

@@tiredcaffeine I feel like they went from like a 15% investment to 50% (Answer less, Oak probably more). Improvement, but far from ideal. If they were truly invested they would have joined the party and would listen to the characters more. But now at least they should understand the overall story even if they might not get the full impact or every character arc.

Can’t believe you missed that party! At this point you should want to be there because you love the characters but you’ve spent no time with them or paying attention and I think it’s too late now. Oak will get it I think though.

Some of the Strauss missions are optional, but I suggest you do them all. It’s crazy that some of them are optional

When someone from the gang talks to you in camp or the gang is celebrating something or they talk to you while riding your horses, please listen!! Please it will increase your enjoyment of the story if you get to know these people. you are missing out on important dialogue. Just because it’s not in an official cutscene doesn’t mean it’s not important. Treat most dialogue like it’s a cutscene even if it’s not an official cinematic cutscene.

Good point, although there is still a lot more gang dialogue they haven’t missed yet and tons of horseback dialogue during the main story that they haven’t missed yet either. Too late to enrich their understanding of some character/story arcs, but not too late for some others just yet

I've never just popped off in Saint Denis. I always found it pretty easy to navigate. The law will always overwhelm you fast. It's a bad idea all around to act a fool. Even just antagonizing the wrong person can lead to a gun fight.

I got to be honest, hunting isn't really that hard on this game. A turtle or otherwise. You guys just make everything harder by not using dead eye when you play.

I get a little practice, but Oak is doing things we want to see off camera. We want to see you try and hunt and collect pelts. We want those random encounters. That's the whole point.

You can hitch a ride for free in wagons/coaches passing by. While you are riding in one you can drink, smoke and eat as much as you can. You can talk shit to people passing by until the driver gets fed up of you and tosses you off the coach/wagon, it's really funny.

I'm a little said Oak isnt streaming his solo rdr2 plays. I wanna see him exploring the random crazy sites and encouraging others throughout the game. That's part of what makes the game so good, but we're limited to just watching the 3 of them strictly play the storyline for the most part Also, cinematic mode isnt gonna stop the spawn of random stranger encounters. You still have some control in cinematic mode, (can still speed up, eat, feed/pet your horse) you just gotta exit cinematic mode when you wanna interact with whatever side quest pops up

These theater shows are so fun to watch, it´s not always the same show also! And if you want to sleep and bathe in Saint Denis you´ll have to go to the big saloon, you can ask for a room at the bar, same concept as in the Rhodes saloon.

Marko Dragic is modelled on real life 'Nikola Tesla' (1856 - 1943) and his Lab is like Wardenclyffe Tower which Tesla built. Tesla also invented a remote control boat that looked just like in the game in 1898 although I'm not sure it could fire torpedo's. Fun little side mission.

You miss Premium Cigarette Cards if you don't pick a packet. When you can't it means you are full. Discard them all so you can pick the one you found.

To unlock those guns you have to do the challenges like the marksman. But, you have to learn to use dead eye. It's really hindering everyone's game. You guys should try hunting and fishing for legendary animals and fish. Haven't seen you guys even try to craft special clothing yet.
