Jackson (Cillian Murphy) explains his kidnapping plan to Lisa (Rachel McAdams).
FILM DESCRIPTION:
Terror rides the night skies in this thriller from horror auteur Wes Craven. Lisa Reisert (Rachel McAdams) is a young woman with more than her share of anxieties about flying. However, when circumstances demand she go to Miami, she gathers her nerves and books a seat on a late-night flight. Sitting next to her is a handsome and charming man named Jackson (Cillian Murphy), whom she already met in the airport, but once their jet is safely in the air, Lisa discovers he's not the pleasant traveling companion she imagined. Jackson is part of a terrorist cell plotting to kill the head of Homeland Security, and he's decided to draft Lisa into helping him. While Lisa has no interest in abetting Jackson's plan, he soon reveals he's holding a trump card -- his compatriots are holding Lisa's father hostage, and will kill him if she doesn't cooperate. Red Eye was the first feature film credit for screenwriter Carl Ellsworth, who previously scripted episodes of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Xena: Warrior Princess.

Cillian Murphy is very underrated. A lot of people will say that he's nothing special because he's never been in any huge starring roles in Hollywood movies. But the truth is that the guy isn't a very public person. He doesn't have any social media accounts and he always attends film premieres alone. And he likes being in independant films because he enjoys the scripts of them and filming them more then big Hollywood movies. And as of 2021, it makes total sense.

Took me three tries to watch peaky blinders as it’s very hard to understand what’s going on. A complex show. Watched the first episode 3x and just decided I’d watch and understand as it went on. Still a lot I didn’t catch

I completely agree with you. I've only recently started watching him and I've just got through the first two seasons of Peaky Blinders (I've been under a rock for a long time 😂) and he is so unrecognisable. Just watching him walk with a cigarette in his mouth is a sign of how great he is and his acting is flawless. Could not believe he was Irish when I found out his nationality! Someone has got to give him more lead roles soon because he is one of the best (if not the best) actors working today.

I distinctly remember seeing this on tv late night and i was all alone. I thought it was a feel good romantic movie and i did like their chemistry, but i was sleepy and decided to hit the drapes and this scene happened-- i was like “wait whut”. Understandably i finished the whole thing haha

You heard me..... Chilling performance. I remember liking this movie when it showed up because it was the old fashioned thriller type where it's all about the suspense and the performances for the most part. No bloody scenes, no swearing, even the criminal doesn't die at the end.
