Red Planaria Flatworms! Ways to beat this Saltwater Pest!

Welcome back to another episode this week on the King Tide Corals Channel, this week we are going to talk about a common saltwater pest, Red Planaria Flatworms
We will go over common ways to combat this pest, and the methods I will be using to try and fight back the infestation in my macroalgae tank. Feel free to chime in on the comments with your trials against flatworms and any comments or questions about this pest!

Ooooo you got the blue velvet nudi, I've always wanted one but fortunately/ unfortunately I haven't had a flatworm problem (yet) so no nudi for me 😔 I never knew there was another store in Bellevue besides SC! Looks super awesome as well, I'll have to check it out soon!

Yeah it’s a blessing and a curse right?!? LOL Also you totally need to check out saltwater city! Awesome spot some really nice shipments they usually get they just got a huge Aussie shipment

True blue sapphire damsels eat up those flatworms right up :)

Glad you found a solution that's working! Crazy how fast that nudibranch is with eating the flatworms. Send him over to me when he's finished 😜 haha jk Also your LFS looks dope! I was surprised with how many bubble nems they had 😮

Yeah it’s a lot faster than what I originally thought! Yeah that’s one of the better ones up here in the greater PNW area, but there’s quite a few good ones to enjoy!!

I have a massive infestation!! Going to try the manual removal with every water change and a Wrasse. Hopefully over time I will get it under control.

How long did you end up keeping the nudibranch for? Im finding the same flatworms all over my euphyllias and ive tried manual removal but they keep coming back

The first to mention this! Nice catch! Pistol Pete LIVES!!!! Dude is a soldier. Super glad he made it through... now just hoping he played nice with the flaming prawn goby

@@kingtidecorals Nice, glad to hear that. They do seem to be able to make it through the occasional mishap. How long did he keep himself hidden away? Like I commented on that video, mine stayed silent and cooped up in its burrow after a heater malfunction for a week before I noticed it had pulled through. Happy Pistol Pete was able to make it. Hopefully you'll be able to show us him and his goby doing their thing soon.
