Thank you all for your interest and engagement. Due to the current WGA/SAG strikes, and out of respect for those striking, I have halted talking about forthcoming screen adaptations of books until resolutions have been reached.

I read the book and found the political aspect sort of boring and like it dragged. So for me personally I would be happy the cut some of that.

Also I might be the minority here but I dont remember much of the side characters. I remember only caring about Alex and Henry. So for me Personally it’s not the end of the world if they cut the side characters. I rather have a well developed story with Alex and Henry and so much happens in the story that I don’t even know if if even cutting the other characters is enough for them to show their romance 😂. But I’m super excited for the film and I think the trailer looks great! But that’s whats great about media it’s all subjective.

I think the Alexander Hamilton scene happens with “The night is young, ma.”

I hope we’re gonna get Alex’s bisexuality being a focus as well

Apparently they’ve combined Nora and June and have cut June from the story. 🥺 That’s my biggest disappointment so far but I’m soooo excited for this

Nora is definitely in it. They combined her with June. Rumour is they had combined Luna and Liam into one character, but all he scenes gut cut. Ostensibly because they felt the subplot took away the focus from the main romancr

Nora and Pez are in the new years party, and I think in the karaoke scene too.

They stated that the movie would have been longer but Amazon said it had to be kept to two hours, so when you watch the movie, think about what you would have cut to include elements you sorely miss. (And I bet making this a series was totally out of the question.) I've seen the movie when it first came out, and I simply can't stop watching and rewatching it. Reading the book afterwards makes it seem like the book is part of the same story, just filling it out more. (In other words, it doesn't seem like the movie and book are at odds with each other.) You can also see at every step how clearly the book was loved and respected, as when they didn't have time to fully include some detail that only makes sense if you read the book. The movie cuts down the turkey scene but there is also a clip of "Alex" reading the lines from the book along with the turkey scene itself. Absolutely charming.

I liked the love story . Looking forward to seeing it. I found the book a bit boring . I didn't really care about the American politics. I also found it doubtful that Texas would vote for Democratic woman with a gay mexican son . That's a stretch .. it was definitely fiction.

June has been. Nora is with Alex entering the wedding she's played by Rachel Hilson. Luna and Liam have been combined into a new character played by Polo Morin, who I've read is also the narrator and former lover of Alex.

I haven't read the book, but the trailer has made me want to. However, I expect that for a film adaptation they will have cut some of the side characters and sub-plots - things that may have remained from the book if it was a 4, 6, or 8 part TV series. So, with that in mind I'm going to wait until after watching the film to read the book so that I get more from the book when I read it and can enjoy the film not knowing what is missing.

i ve not read the book yet ,but i order today and I will receive it before the movie at least 2 weeks

So I have a theory about the whole no June thing. Nora and Bea will be in it. In the book the story is told entirely from Alex’ pov so both Nora and June are in it heavily and Princess Bea is a more minor character. Nora is the sarcastic crazy one and June is the caring sympathetic sister. Well for the movie I’m thinking the story is going to be more evenly split between Alex and Henry’s POVs So because of that we will get way more Beatrice and so too keep things more even and not have Alex with too many people and Henry not enough, I have a feeling that the movie is going to combine June and Bea into 1 character and also give some June bits to Nora as well.

According to the cast list Rafael Luna is in there

I’am with you on that kind of movie this is ! Is it’s going to be a mile wide, an inch deep. Like slap stick ! Or they going to get into the weeds ! Some people here have say their fine with just main characters. I might be to if it’s funny and flows well ! I don’t know I see both sides of it.

Nora will be there but June will not be.
