While I don't know much about this movie/ book at all I know those two men have some chemistry on screen and they are going to make a laugh and probably cry, this trailer has made me very excited for this movie.

R rating is a good thing, because it means the sex and dialogue (lots of swearing) will be true to the book, or at least true enough. I hope.

There are some spicy scenes in the book😏😏🔥🔥 so trust me , it is R rate cause of those scenes 😏

The book is very nearly NC-17 so an R rating means they toned it down a little.

In the book they cuss a lot and to get a PG-13 Rating for movies you can only say “fuck” one single time, so that’s another reason for the R rating 😊

in a hilarious turn of events, i watched all of your other red, white and royal blue movie and book videos before i saw this trailer reaction, so when you said "i could see myself getting severely addicted to this," i laughed. it was a fun way to end this rwrb journey!

Haven't read the book either! After the movie comes out, I'll probably pick it up to read it but I like the idea of watching the movie first because then I won't be too blinded by expectations. This looks soooo good and the actors are beautiful. I'm here for a gay rom com with an actual BUDGET. I mean...Uma Thurman? Come onnnnn

The Little Nas X song is about him wanting a boyfriend/a man to love, which seems perfect for the trailer and story. Soooo, yeah, lol.

I think you would have a really good experience with the movie if you read the book first, but selfishly, I would love it if you made a reaction video to the movie without having read it first, so we can see a completely blind reaction. I think I well be going in for a blind reaction as I like being surprised by the movie, if it is a good as I think it will be I will probably end up reading the book straight after the movie anyway :)

I saw the trailer first and picked up the book last week and finished it on Monday, just in time for the premiere this Friday! I liked the book, my type of rom com. Watching the trailer again now makes me excited to see the movie since I can pinpoint the plot points now 😮‍💨

That's a good idea, well I am definitely going to read the book, but I think it will be after I watch the movie, cause I want to go in without any knowledge because I think it is more fun that way

Sometimes I think the American R might be closer to our MA. And honestly, I don’t understand why people get wound up about watching an adaptation before reading the book.

There's a LOT of swearing in the book. An R Rating gives them free reign to say "fuck" as much as they want.

The R rating is most definitely because it's a gay love story. All you need to dispel any thought that it isn't is to look at other movies with straight sexuality all over the place and it gets the equivalent of a PG-13. In Canada, it's being listed as PG, because we're a nation that doesn't get defensive or clutch our pearls when it comes to queer love.

In the US, movies get their ratings assigned by the MPAA. It's effectively a focus group of prudish parents who assign ratings based on what age they think kids should be before seeing the movie. They get their power by the fact that theaters won't show something without a rating, and only if it's rated R or lower. That forces filmmakers to tone things down or their movie can't be distributed. I'm surprised Prime Video bothered getting it rated at all. :(

To me you don’t need to have read the books, you can just enjoy it as a romantic dramedy, I haven’t read the books I just saw the trailer and said a bl royal romance, that looks fun and interesting, so I’m excited to see it, a lot of times the movie or show will drive you to read whatever books it’s based on if you like it, so I see no loss here

You sure like to hear yourself talk, or else you wouldn't have missed at the start of the trailer when Uma Thurman's character telling her son she's sending him to a royal wedding. And then when the cake falls on them, you're like, "Are they at a wedding?"
