Oh...that will be Psalm 42 at the beginning. In Hungarian it starts like: "Mint a szép híves patakra a szarvas kívánkozik..."

I appreciate your thoughts on Christian Zionism. I think a lot of Evangelicals have been blinded to some of the problems with the Israeli state by their dispensational views.

Ah, “Freu dich sehr, o meine Seele” in the background. How Protestant.

that melody is actually from Psalm 42 in the Genevan Psalter, written 100 years before Bach. So it's actually one of the few Calvinism hymns we have! :)

JMac's comments on the blood of Christ has made me confused all the more. If we say it is the blood of God then won't it imply that the blood shed on the cross was divine blood? But it was the human nature that died and not the divine nature (by definition the divine cannot die). However Acts 20:28 also talks about it being the blood of God

Priestly celibacy is not a uniquely Roman Catholic thing, it is also part of the Orthodox tradition, but not the same way as in the R.C. Church. Eastern churches ordain married man into the priesthood, but once they are priests (or deacons), and their wife dies, they are not allowed to remarry. If a man wants to be ordained while unmarried, he must remain celibate. (These men are usually also monks of the Order of Saint Basil.) Only priests living in celibacy are allowed to be ordained as bishops in the Eastern church. So, the basic rule is: marriage and priesthood are both sacraments in the Eastern church and the sacrament of priesthood trumps the sacrament of marriage. If you are married, you can be a priest, but if you are a priest, you can not marry anymore in these churches. I know a few Hungarian Catholics of the Greek rite (Eastern Christians who approve the Pope; they are the majority of Catholics in the Eastern part of Hungary), including priests and they told me these things. Also, Anglican pastors who become Roman Catholic, and are ordained as catholic priests, remain married, of course. They are approved married priests of the Roman Catholic Church.

Listening to higher church Lutheran and Presbyterian doctrine has turned me into an Augustinian Semi-Baptist Sacramentalist (long title 😂) I used to be a full blown “baptism is just an outward commitment” type of guy. Not anymore. Baptism saves in that it forgives sins. That’s clear. I still remain a non-Calvinist though, as I lean more toward classical Lutheranism than classical Presbyterianism.

10:29 You say the way to know if you're "elect" is by believing in Christ, but what about apostates like Origen and Tertullian? They believed in Christ and were part of the established Catholic Church yet eventually fell away into heresy and have been officially condemned. So, were they never elect, going against what you and Calvin just said, or is Perseverance of the Saints incorrect and thus it is possible to lose your salvation? 22:46 You say the use of icons has been a debate in all of Church history. What about the 7th Ecumenical Council declaring icons as good and profitable for worship and condemning iconoclasm? In a previous video you referenced the 3rd Ecumenical Council for its rejection and anathema of Nestorianism (and in this video implicitly). Do you merely pick and choose which Ecumenical Councils to accept when it suits your perceptions of God? You also say Church history is written by the victor; would you disagree that the Ecumenical Councils have NOT been guided by The Holy Spirit in their decisions? If so, you are inconsistent. If not, why do you use their decisions arbitrarily when it suits you to support the teachings of your philosophical project that is Calvinism/Reformed Theology, worshipping its rational idea of God and not who God actually is? 29:26 The Holy Spirit having several titles, especially those in direct relation to other Divine Persons, is directly referenced and explained by St Cyril of Jerusalem (315-386) in his 17th Catechetical Homily where he cautions his catechumens to not interpret there being multiple “Holy Spirits” because of The Spirit’s many titles (Spirit of God, of Christ, of Truth, Comforter, etc.). Just as many were getting confused FROM SCRIPTURE about the identity of God the Holy Spirit in that context, interpreting the Holy Spirit as proceeding from The Father AND The Son because of His Divine titles is akin to the same errors St Cyril was cautioning against almost 1700 years ago, and causes you to misunderstand who God is (as Spirit), which is, by your stated definition, heresy.
