Well said and totally agree! I believe some folks out in South Korea do some crazy overhauls, including non-OEM colors that fetch a pretty penny; I'm sure that blue example in the video is one of theirs. Your watch is gorgeous by the way, especially on that bracelet!

I've seen some crazy good redials. I've also seen tons of super bad redials sell for more than 400 euro.. (even tough i reported the auctions)

Very interest and useful video! By the way, do you know the meaning, or difference, between “R” & “T” after 8000, such as “8000T” and “8000R” in addition to the design of letter “A” ? Maybe manufactured by a different factory etc ?

Not sure if been mentioned but the 'H' in Hi - BEAT has the horizontal bar lower in the 'Good' redial than the original dial!

Verry helpful tutorial. Unfortunately most of the vintage Grand/King Seikos on the market - especially the surprisingly affordable ones are redials.

not sure where you’re getting this, i buy direct form japan and most have some amount of patina, sometimes heavily. I’ve looked are hundreds and own a half dozen. I would assume these are watches on international markets like ebay or chrono24

The dial should match the condition of the rest of the watch. If the case is worn but the dial is perfect you might have a problem, though not always. If you want to play it safe, light patina. I also appreciate a hand painted redial, i’m not kidding - there’s a real charm to a watch that tells you what it is.

Educational but I preferred the sunburst and the color of the modded watch. The ink was definitely not as crisp; too much, too wet, or simply wrong font. That said the overall look of the redial was superior.

45GS was sold on black crocodile straps only. The bracelet I use is from vintage Grand Seiko Special that was made a few years after 45GS

There are pictures of Grand Seikos in old Seiko catalogs that clearly have dial codes printed above the minute markers, so why do you say that a dial code above the minute markers indicates a redial?

It depends on a model. Different GS models have this text in the different places. For example: 4522-8000 has it below minute markers
