My favourite trooping the colour, coincided with HRH diamond jubilee. Excellent music and marching, especially love the quick march from circa 23 minutes in - perfection!

Did you notice HM The Queen tapping in time with her feet at 23:22 ? The Red Feathers are really a fantastic tune.
@praetorian6511 жыл бұрын
This is correct. The Colour is not dipped in quick time, it is let fly. He did it correctly.

So much history, Britain will always be proud of this. Great to see the royals in their redcoats too. Canada needs to do a larger trooping of the colour, I think we do a version of it in early summer.

Just Great. I love seeing the Trooping tye Colours.

They do this once in every year since 1748. They did this for Queen Victoria too, but she didn't always attend the parade herself. Queen Elizabeth II, on the other hand, has attended every parade so far during her 60 years of reign.

I know the feeling. It makes me proud as a Brit to know that a vast portion of the world speaks our language and it is arguable the most important language in the world. :)

We can only hope the new Director General of the BBC takes this on board once he takes up his post in the autumn.

I like the Red Coats, the Horse Cavalry and especially the Horse Artillery with the Guns.

There are some videos on YT of a rehearsal of Trooping the Colour in a yard of some barracks with just the music. Better turn the volume down first because the volume level of those videos is quite high. Since you asked for the music without commentary of the TV reporters, the vids might be worth to listen to them. Enjoy

they're either warrent officer insignia or specialisations i.e saddler, riding instructor etc.

Agreed but when it's not played by the full Band it loses the impact. Plus can you really do it with out a Zylophone like German Military Band?

What are these red ribbons many of the Blues & Royals are wearing on their right sleeve? They don't seem to be rank insignia.

Fantastic display. All the horses had wonderful manners too. Thanks for posting. And part 2 doesn't have snotty viewer comments like part 1. Thank goodness. Too bad the commentators talk so much. Wasn't there a comment in the very beginning that a person could watch the raw feed - so it's possible to watch without chatter?

Is that the forfeit for an officer's faux pas? I would have thought bottles of vintage port.

I would imagine the ensign (Lt. Codrington) got into trouble after he returned to the barracks...he didn't dip the Colors for the National Anthem at the end of the parade...not good! Especially in the Queen's Jubilee year!

The Colour is only dipped in slow time, not quick time. In quick time it is simply let fly, which he did.

Sadly no I have also watched the German version but alas it has the commentator rambling on and on all through the music..I sent a complaint to the BBC about the inane bablings year after year and they replied with "A lot of people wish to know this information" so that is why they have this talking all over the bloody music !!
