Leave it and develop it. It’s just the tank maturing. Don’t rush it. Keep gradually fixing, adding, redecorating. Keep the rocks smd sand, don’t do a tear down

I'd just keep going. Eventually things will turn round. Slow and steady In this hobby. Every tank is different. 18 months is still a young reef really. Keep in mind you also ripped the scape out and started fresh with a new scape- treat that as your day one. Keep going dude!

Your best option is to stick with what you got , tough it out , it's a learning process , saltwater tanks require lots of attention even if you have a automated system , the cost vs sticking with what you have , yeah unless you just want to throw money at things without learning from what you got , just a waste imo, plus you should have a quarantine tank . Just a fyi so not understanding why the shutdown . Feels bad for the pets ....

I shutdown my custom built 55g after 1 ½ years and set up a completely brand new fresh custom built 20g and never looked back. Had the same issues with you where corals didn’t grow, algae kept returning, didn’t look right to me and just infuriating. Well worth the tough decision now I have a beautiful thriving reef

You'd make me extremely happy of you revived the evo. Your tank was my tanks inspiration. I learned so much from your evo series and still do currently. I go back to those videos all the time. Please bring it back and slap that red sea light on it

I have a waterbox 20 aio and love it! Crazy easy maintenance, I just have some floss, chemipure blue and that’s it. I also got a custom clear lid on it so I can completely cover it to limit evaporation which keeps the tank more stable. Can probably go close to a month on 5 gallons of ro water.

When I had this issue it was because my phosphate was up and down. I had algae so I aggressively removed po4 because nothing was growing. After I removed the po4 I still didn't have growth because there was not enough po4. I'm learning that not overfeeding and patients is better than adding chemicals to your tank.

I think it is your light if your sps isn't growing or the PH is too low. I have heard that the red sea lights spectrum has the peak but it is very narrow. I started a little after you with the evo which I shut down because it is kind of small especially the filtration area. I got the IM 25 lagoon and it is much easier because of the filtration area is so much bigger. I think your tank would work if it had been drilled and a sump installed. The tunze filter and skimmer doesn't work very well at least I haven't seen too many successful reefer use that kind of set up. Look at Danny's reef, it is no skimmer, filter, nothing, but it can't be sps. He just does water changes, cleaning and manual top off. If you want simple, there you go.

My Evo front bottom seal just burst. Terrible seal's IMO & there's loads of people who have had similar experiences. Just bought an Acrylic 55Ltr Looking forward to seeing what you do next, Good Luck 👍

I am sad for you that your stopping that tank but also happy as I watch you when you had the 52L and before I bought mine , I used to watch everyone who had one , and I got the D&D temperature controller idea from you , I would love some of that gsp from you ;-)

You mentioned it would take long to fix the tank, so what is the cause? Why aren't the corals growing? The levels of phosphate, nitrate, mag, alk not stable?

No idea what the cause was. Everything was stable and perfect but tank wasn't thriving

I can understand your logic for closing this tank down and I did enjoy your Evo videos but I wonder if you will find the Evo not much of a challenge? Have you considered a tank like a Red Sea Nano like what you your dad had before? Less hassle than the Jewel but still a good size and a challenge...

Scrap that tank mate,them juwel tanks are not for reef keeping u can probably make it work but there not ideal u want a tank all in one system innovative marine 30gallon is the tank what Iv got never had any issues mate

Yeah the fluval evo 13.5 is a perfect nano marine with built in rear Chambers for filtration
