James Chris Beck, without good help, crane operators are nothing. It takes a team to do what I do. So, I can't take all the credit. Thanks again for watching!

Cool video! It doesn’t look to terribly hard to change but still some heavy lifting and pulling! Great job thanks for sharing!
@ToTheTopCrane6 жыл бұрын
Elite Earthworks LLC, it's pretty easy to change. A quick reeve block helps a lot. I'll probably make another video of that process with more narration. We were in a hurry when I did this one. It also happens to be my shortest video. Lol. Thanks for watching!

To The Top Crane ahh that happens sometimes, quick easy videos. But it counts lol

Hey ToTheTop! I wasn't able to see comments or leave a comment on announcements video but I watched it all and ended up being a nice little discussion as always! Take your time and do things nice! Definitely don't over do it in this crazy heat and we will all be here waiting patiently for your return!😎

Did the semi have a flat trailer tire or was it in a hole? Thanks for showing how this is done!

Wayne Tharp, it was in a hole. Thanks for watching! 🙂

I would imagine the more sheaves you have to thread it becomes harder trying to keep all the twists out and being able to hold all together. Thanks for the video.
@ToTheTopCrane6 жыл бұрын
Duncan MacKenzie, it's not too bad. We try to keep the twist out on each pass. Then we don't have to worry about it.

is the metal tab with the hole in it thats hinged on top of the sheave block an attachment point to be able to lift it to put it on a truck or the boom dollie? also very cool to see how a crane is reeved i have only seen that one other time on a youtube video showing how a crawler crane was put together i think it was a crawler crane or might have been a hydraulic crane i cant remember which one though as i seen that a few years ago
@ToTheTopCrane6 жыл бұрын
James Bergeron, that is so it can be picked up. Also, it can be used for single line that way. Next time we have the big block on, I'll get some footage of reeving it. Thanks for watching! 🙂
@motercycles66 жыл бұрын
i kind of figured that i could have been for picking it up but i didnt know that it could be used for a single line that way thats pretty cool

Nice videos! Whats that clicking sound when you use the winch? Is every click 1 inch or something like that? Thanks
@ToTheTopCrane6 жыл бұрын
Patrick Seiber, the clicking is just an indicator telling me that the winch is turning. It does give some indication of how much line is moving in or out. Usually each click is between 1/4 and 1 inch. It's dependent on how many parts of line are reeved through the block. Thanks for watching! 🙂👍
@ronspracticaltutorial63226 жыл бұрын
Looks like eccentric reeving. All 6 parts are on the one side of the boom. Shouldn't it be evenly distributed at the boom tip?
@ToTheTopCrane6 жыл бұрын
Ron's Practical Tutorial, if you watch it closely, they are evenly spaced. The sheaves used for six parts are 2,4,6. There are seven sheaves in the top block (end of the boom). Thanks for watching! 🙂👍
@ToTheTopCrane6 жыл бұрын
Ron's Practical Tutorial, the complete process is....rope over the top right sheave (as viewed from the operators seat) down on the front side of sheave number 2 on the top block, around sheave 1 on the bottom block, up over sheave number 4 on the top block, around sheave number 2 on the bottom block, up over sheave number 6 on the top block, around number 3 on the bottom block, up to the lug on the boom on the far left side (as viewed from the operators seat).

You know something I been wondering what that single cylinder start up is that you have at the beginning of your videos?

Alex Williamson'sadventures, it's an animation of a cartoonish crane that I have for my logo. The engine sound is just a sound effect that I got from KZfaq's creator studio.

I had the same thought. Sounded like a hit or miss that wasn't missing much
@Blazer02LS6 жыл бұрын
So I guess you could sing this as "reeving in the sheaves" .....
@ToTheTopCrane6 жыл бұрын
Blazer02LS, lol! I suppose you could. Thanks for watching!
@RambozoClown6 жыл бұрын
Thanks. No idea the end of the line was so small that not much has to come apart.
@ToTheTopCrane6 жыл бұрын
+Rambozo Clown, this crane has "buttons" on the end that lock into a piece that pins to the boom, block or ball. It is much faster than breaking down a beckett and reeving. The drawback to a button though, if the rope gets damaged, it is much more difficult and expensive to repair. Thanks for watching! 🙂👍

@@ToTheTopCrane This is interesting, ive never worked on a crane that had a block, all just had a ball. They were all about the same though, one National 22ton and two different pioneer 24ton.

johnsaw1983, I know that rope as well as I know my own kids. Lol There are no burrs or bad spots in it. I am also not aware of a law that states that gloves are mandatory. Maybe in other countries. But, I am not aware of one in the US.
