I absolutely loved my refina superflex but I found that it lost its shape very quickly and now looks like an angle tool great work boys

They do bend fairly fast. Although I hadn’t noticed them going out of shape to such a degree they are unusable. It will be good to see the Superflex 3 when its fully sharp. It could be amazing.

Flexis are good if used correctly I use mine at the end give it a all a couple of passes and it works well used to early causes bulges humps stripes I've seen it happen loads of times to people

Hi there Alex !! Great videos you make there! Stunning work !! I have a couple of questions though, because here in Greece, the technique we use is quite different. we use to apply the fitst coat, let it dry totally, then sand it, and do the same for the second coat. However, what i saw from your videos , is that you usually plaster dry wall. Do you use that technique on brick walls without drywall as well? And the second question is, what kind of plaster do you use? we use to work with less watery plaster, when we mix it, it comes off thicker. So when i saw your kind of plaster, i thought how doesnt he drop it, or make a mess ?? WOW! It would be sooooo useful to learn your technique , because as far as i can see, there is no sandind in it, so that is quite quicker and of course quite cleaner cause there is no dust , and the outcome is better, flashier. I feel preveleged by watching your videos and learning nwe stuff, thanks for sharing and spreading knowledge, i hope you reply and please excuse any false use of the english language as it is not my native tongue. Hi George thanks for the comment. The product we use is called British Gypsum Multi Finish/Board Finish. It’s a larger grit size compared to filler or tape and joint adhesive. Typically its mixed up a lot wetter, as work time is only about 30-40min. Regards the lack of mess, that just comes with practice tbh. Though we did do a video entitles “How to drop less plaster”. Generally there is no need to sand the walls. The finish for the most part is considered paint ready. Whether you can get a similar product in Greece I’m not sure.

But until that, i will try to use your technique on the product i usually use, i cross my fingers it works.. it probably will... Do you know if despite the Gypsum , are there any other components in that product?? Thank you very much, Keep inspiring us man !!

@@AlexMorleyPlastering Just a quick request.. How about making a video talking about all the tools you use, in order to achieve the result you want , from scratch. Also , what are the criteria you re based upon selecting a trowel per example. And you should tak about the product itself , ingredients , things like that. it would be very useful to beginners like me. Thank you very much Alex !

Can you break a trowel in with 320 paper? I have seen this done by a few people on other channels.

Hi Gary we did review this subject before on the channel. Generally in our opinion sandpaper sharpens a trowel, it doesn’t break it in. Although it wont do it any harm a it will likely speed up the break in process and make it easier to finish with. Generally a flexible trowel doesn’t really need to be broken in, as they tend to come in so fast. If you do use sand paper we always suggest wet and dry.

@@AlexMorleyPlastering I recently got a 16” and kind of regretting it, cause it does feel Heavy. May be a 14” wouldn’t have felt as bad.

Its funny how refina seem to be the brand for Plastering products but i dont know anyone that uses refina trowels for laying on at all.

I think that’s because there laying on trowels suck. There flexible trowels are much better.

Good video, what if anything is it actually doing better than your carbon though mate? It’s not taking much pressure off your elbow because it’s so stiff. Are there any advantages or optimism for why it would be better?

Great comment. I think it’s very hard to beat a fully broken in Carbon tbh. However this trowel will sharpen very fast, and is still more flexible that a carbon, and obviously doesn’t rust. I think this will give you a pro finish a lot faster than a carbon.
