I have trouble with 'bliss': moments of peak realization, yes, but contentment in the changing emotional states. Bob is the best: love his underlying humor which is love at one's humanness and error.

Enlightenment, the non participation in everything by observation of everything, which is called reflection.., all good Math-philosophy. About the best recommendation attributed to Buddhists is "here it is, but don't believe anything I say", because belief is neither experience nor understanding, and anti philosophical objections to the serious effort required, (often driven by suffering), leads most seekers and scientists to take short cuts that "throw the baby out with the bathwater". I am cynical in saying that anyone claiming "full enlightenment", in completeness, has successfully completed fooling themselves.

That's not cynical. Individuals don't obtain enlightenment, it's impossible.
