Hi RV Dummy, Thanks so much for sharing your video. Our fridge has just done the very same, it will not run on gas. I have tried like you to work it out without success. i am going to check that battery out, ( we call it the Leisure battery here in the UK ) . Maybe it will all be ok but i would like to thank you as you are the only one who has come up with that idea. All the very best Duncan, Cornwall UK.

Thanks Dummy for the heads up. My propane fridge stop working and I fixed it. So troubleshooting tips: 1. Check propane level, also verify propane working by turning on stove. 2. Turn on propane and have someone put ear next to solenoid valve(brass block with wires) accessible outside van with cover off. Should hear click of valve that turns on propane to fridge.3. Listen for clicks of piezo high voltage spark to ignite propane. My problem was buildup of rust particles dropping down from burner tube into the slots in the propane burner. It filled up the slots blocking the propane. Hint should have been a hint with the thick accumulation of rust 'dust' in the pan of the burner. So, I had gas flow through valve, spark, but only small flame that looked like a pilot light. But the propane fridges don't have pilot light, either on or off. Disassembled and cleaned out tube and boom, back to ice cold fridge.

Although this happened and was posted 2 years ago, I just had to thank you for being so honest in admitting all of that!! Everybody needs to get a refresher in simple troubleshooting. I hope you are still traveling.

We got our class b late in the summer. Only took it out once to see how she ran. I couldn't get the inverter to work right. Thought I'd better check the batteries and connections....I think the owners I got it from were RV Dummies! The connections were so corroded I couldn't believe ANYTHING was working. I cleaned them up and the inverter began to work. Next spring I'm replacing ALL connections. Clean connections are critical to all working machines. Glad you got it and an easy (cheap) fix!

I am so glad you learned something that can happen. Another issue that is easy to avoid, simply keep your Propane tank 3/4 full. If your tank is to low it causes things to not light even if it’s not near empty. I have had that issue Your Freg has a warranty.

Skip 3/4 through this home movie. It could be shortened to 2-3 minutes and this video would be hugely better

This is how you learn. Next time that will be the first thing you check. I agree with Janice, The RV Dummy name fits still. LOL

Good lesson.... the batteries are the most neglected part of a vehicle. we just think of checking engine and transmission fluids and tire pressures. I occasionally rinse the engine and get all that white and green powder off the battery terminals and wiggle the connectors for tightness. Those red and green pads that go under each terminal also help.

The most neglected part of a vehicle usually the rear axle

If I’m not mistaken the battery is to get the initial spark to light the propane. 👍🏼

I am glad you shared this experience! We are shopping for a used, Class B and are a bit nervous about the ability to trouble shoot and manage all of the repair issues. I am sure there are a lot of RV Dummies out there! Might you even say, most first time owners are "dummies"! Laura

I'm looking at a van like yours and it doesn't have a back up camera or suitable stereo. I'm curious on what you went with and where you got it and installed? And maybe the cost? So thanks for making these videos and good luck on your journey.

Orbmetal Death I’ll tell you what, let me actually do a whole video for you and I can explain everything. I’ll try to do it as soon as I possibly can so stay tuned! Great question.
