This tune was the tune we sang at the A.B.C minors cinama on Abbey Road, Barrow in Furness in the 60s,when I whent to the pictures on Sat mornings, Brings back grt memories, And REGINALD DIXON plays it superbly, many thanks.

"All of a sudden a great big black pudding came whistling through the air ..." Anyone know the rest of the words to that version? My Grandma used to say it, but didn't know more than that line!

Would be nice to hear those recordings! I hope he got on with the minors - some could be unruly! Sat morning were especially nice as there were no adults sitting in front blocking the view! The organists I recall always made a point of making the kids stand up and remove caps when the national anthem played & it was quite entertaining sometimes, as by late 1950s / 60s they had started to rebel more against authority and establishment, young as we were! 6d Stalls, 9d Balcony lol. I worked there, haha. Interestingly, the Minors Song, blaze away was played by Joseph Seal, who was ABC's Musical Director at the time. He made, white label, in house use only, recordings on the Wurlitzer at the Regal, Kingston upon Thames.

Auntie Molly Pearce at the Regal Cinema Putney on a Saturday morning . We were too unruly to be allowed in the balcony , and there was always a crush to bundle out before the National Anthem . Reginald Dixon was a knig amongst organists . Excellent video .

@silverstartrucker Reg Dixon was a comedian, Reginald Dixon wasn't. There's a bit of confusion here, thats why Reg Dixon the comedian used Reg and not Reginald.

As far as I am aware, Reginald Dixon was an ARCM. The performer's diploma required a standard of performance equal to FRCO without the candidate having to go through endless tests and paperwork exams.
