It is where I danced as young man, in the 1950s, to these tunes. Happy days, no drugs, no knives, no violence.

In many way better times, but too bad there was little if any Rock ' Roll, 'cept of course Buddy Holly.

So lovely to hear. While I accept that violence has always taken place, there was, in the past, the basic belief in God which has sadly gone. Hope all is well in Canada. xo

When I was a little girl after the war I enjoyed Reginald. He allowed my dad Bob Sutcliffe to play for him at the Tower organ when he took a break. This happened every holiday we had in Blackpool.I have beautiful memories

Thanks for that information Doreen, I know that Mr Dixon, aside from his brilliant talent and skills, was a very pleasant and generous man - unlike many of the so-called celebs and entertainers of today who get lavished with honours and money... He should have been knighted. Best wishes.

OMG when I was a child my late grandfather gave me a pile of acetate 78's and LP's. We lost contact with him and about 10 years later my father was coldly told "oh he died many years ago"! Long story but his wife banned grandad from seeing his son or gransons ever again??? I slowly worked my way through the records until I reached REGINALD DIXON AT THE BLACKPOOL TOWER ORGAN!! I had never heard anything like it!!! I played that record over and over until sadly it got damaged and wouldnt play anymore, I guess the grooves got too deep?? . I took to the organ so much my father bought me a small portable reed organ and I was on my way! I have played keyboards (badly )since then, at one time having a large Hammond in my bedroom!!. Now arthritis has overcome my hands and the pain stops me playing much now, I ALWAYS wanted to be allowed to play a WURLITZER, but that dream was never realised. Thank you Reg Dixon you should have been KNIGHTED!!!!

What a pity you can no longer play, I have beeñ fortunate enough to have had some thirteen operations on my hands over the past twelve or so years enabling me to keep playing the keyboard. Still playing at 75 mainly for my own pleasure. My Husband spent many a happy hour at the Tower Ballroom, Blackpool as a boy with his parents. We have many of Reginald Dixon's records but wonderful to find such s lot of material on the entertainer on KZfaq, many many thanks to the compiler. My best wishes to you. Freda

HI there, wordsmith. In reply to your reply below... yes I understand. The tech end of things can be so difficult, making it a challenge to do all we would hope for with our videos. I had a friend put subtitles in one of my singalongs, which I referred to in my comment below. He said it was quite time consuming and difficult... so, I have not really tried to do much with that in my other singalongs. Maybe someday! Enjoyed your video. -M :)

Ok thanks for clarifying - yes of course each to his own - I don't altogether disagree in some respects - I remember so called holidays by the seaside with terrible weather, always short of money, food, and culture - ma & pa scrimping and scraping et al - it was lamentable and sad that way but it was better than nowt and looking back through nostalgic eyes removes most of the discomfort.

Neat! I love hearing the organ. Very nice. I have a singalong with subtitles in my Music Poetry and Art by Michael featured playlist (and also do a daily recording which is featured on my page which has golden oldies public domain songs sung by myself and played on various instruments. Going to check out your page now. Have a great day! -Michael :)
