How I fit the register plate All solid fuel installations must be carried out by a registered HETAS installer, or through Building control.

Thanks, I cut a small slot using the thin blade on the grinder and using the metal jigsaw blade just cut a circle out. As shown in Part 1 cutting the sweeping hatch hole. Thanks DVD

@hectyre Thanks for the comments, yes just use the same design and leave out the hatch this is now technically a CLOSURE Plate, then you can still use the portioned off section to fit the liner and secure the flue pipe to the adaptor. Just remember it is advisable to have at least 1mtr of flue pipe before connection to the liner. and if possible the MF adaptor should be through the plate by about 4 \ 6 inches, allowing expansion for the file pipe. It is advisable to insulate liners for best opp

Thanks for watching, but i only install for my own customers and provide upgrades to there current systems, advise is then given on site. Never accept quotes that haven't been subject to an onsite inspection. All the best Dickvandike.

Excellent video, thanks If you cannot fit the inspection panel/sweeping access into the register plate can you still fit a soot door into the front of the chimney, although it is unsightly in the room? If the stove is offset from the flue by 300mm can you use two 45/135 degree bends?

Just been watching some of your videos, great work! I plan on lining our chimney and I was wondering if I need the inspection panel or can I make it the same way and leave it out? Our coal fire is still in place at the moment so I haven't had a look at it yet but I assume your register plate design would work just fine. Still need t choose a decent stove too, The room is about 5x5m. That pinning idea is great btw, I would have just used angle iron brackets but that looks way better.

Great advice there .im currently on with this job and was just wondering if i could use stainless steel as the register plate its just i have some kicking around which i thought might save me money , also other than the thicker vermicilite board can you reccomend any other type of cheaper board i could use in boarding around the inside of the opening or even to use as regiser plate which i can paint . Thanks very much

Hi Yes the tiles can be used, Plaster will always crack unless its at least 400 to 600mm away from the stove, cement render will withstand the heat better and should be at least 150mm away. or more depending on the manufactures recommendation. If its a good fit then no sealant is necessary, if not then heatproof silicone. Thanks for watching DVD

Thanks, it is bolted to the frame no sealant as it is a precision / flush fit, this also applies to the inspection panel. Thanks for watching

Hi, yes stainless steel would be great, a little tough on the jigsaw blade when cutting the round hole? go slow!, and how about slate? or tiles as a decretive surround. Thx DVD

Great Video - how did you cut the hole for the flue?

Hi, yes you can fit a 9x9 soot door in the wall, and if coming off the top of the stove then a swan neck pipe or two angled pipes 135 degee can be used. How-ever only two bends should be used on the whole length of any flue Lined or unlined. thx DVD

Hi, If its in a tube it may very well be silicon? Only silicon will stand the test of time, due to its flexibility. Thanks DVD

Hi Every installation is unique and involves different costs the best advise is to look on the HETAS website for a registered installer nr you and get some quotes.
