I had a classmate that graduated at 50 years old and went straight in home health and he has been thriving in it. He never wanted to go work in the hospital because he was a CNA there and hated the pace and busyness there.

I am looking forward to the pay negotiations talk. I am salary and it seems good especially with bonuses but I always have to be careful to make sure im setting boundaries on my personal time.

Hello Tawanda I’m loving you channel i’m a hospice nurse I noticed similarities between Home Health and hospice One of the pros you mentioned is charting anywhere I live in Florida so if I want to chart on the beach after seeing some of my patients I can do that 😊

Would you recommend a nurse to have at least a year or two of medical/surgery/pysch experience prior to going into home health? When I graduated nursing school I didn't feel like I was prepared to work on my own until I had at least 2 years in a hospital environment. I feel the hospital environment gives new graduates a foundation and allows them to learn and practice their nursing skills with the support of your coworkers instead of being out on your own in the home health nursing. I hope what I am saying makes sense.
