But once the change of scenery wears off, you are back in the mindset from which you came. Remember, "wherever you go, there you are." You can't escape yourself.

It can be like that or can be different, depending on the person.

Born in Chania Crete my parents and family move to canada when i was 9 years old. That was 60 years ago. The last 20 years i had a idea to return for good. Moving back to my homeland and my birthplace with a goal to put together a sports program where I teach kids how to play Canadian sports like street hockey and American football I know basketball 🏀 was here back from the middle of the 70s but i yet to see kids play football 🏈 or hockey 🏒🥅 without the ice. For 33 years I was a sports photographer for major professional teams here in Montréal Canada and I would go directly to companies to ship the sports equipment for the program. Kalimera Raul and Amalia and thank you for another inspiring message

As far as I can understand you live close by the sea and in Crete. That's the mildest you can get in Greece..And of course it's a good decision if you like this kind of climate. But in the north it's a whole different story. There are places that get snow from November to late march or even April. And the temperatures can drop to -20°C or even more. Of course in mountainous areas even in south Greece it can be cold and snowy.

Thank you for watching and sharing this🙏 The climate here is one of the reasons we chose Crete. We know winters can get cold. Sometimes people just assume there is no winter in Greece 😅 It's good to know it can get quite cold and be prepared for it.

informative as always, i have a question tho, correct me if i'm wrong on this. You guys moved here with your own car right? if so, that car was registered (and ensured) in some other country right? So, what happens once the registration runs out, what are the procedures there. Tnx! :)
@Sunpire
@Sunpire 23 күн бұрын
Thanks for watching! 🙏 Yes, we bought the car in Romania and moved here by car. We will have to register it here, but we can't do that until we own the car for at least 6 months. Meanwhile the car is registered and insured in Romania.

@@Sunpire Thanks! does that rule applies due to both Romania and Greece being in EU, or it's a general rule? I was under the impression one would have to pretty much "import" the car at some point, guess not :).
