Frozen shoulder, or adhesive capsulitis, causes pain, weakness, and little to no mobility in the shoulder joint. It is a daily struggle to do simple tasks like putting on a shirt, taking a shower, washing dishes, or even getting comfortable enough to sleep at night. It can also affect your ability to work, resulting in unwanted time off.
If you have frozen shoulder, hopefully you are working with a physical therapist and a massage therapist to decrease pain, get back your range of motion, and strengthen weakened muscles. If not, ask your doctor for referrals.
Be patient with yourself. Treating frozen shoulder takes months, if not years. This self massage video is intended as an adjunct to your regular therapies. Massaging your shoulder daily can help speed up the healing process, and offer you relief. So follow along with me as we gently work towards thawing your frozen shoulder.

Two days back I woke up in the morning with an extreme pain in my left shoulder and was unable to lift my hand up. I watched your video and it helped me a lot to release pain from my armpit area and the back of my shoulder. I also show this massage techniques to my mother-in-law who also had the same problem for years and surprisingly she can also can lift her hand up now. Thank you soo much ❤

I am alone at home in the middle of the night and I’m so much pain. I have followed this video twice and the second time every muscle was remarkably softer, and as I rolled my arm I had popping joints all through my back, shoulder, neck, and skull! Wow. Thank you so much.

I love this exercise. It helped me with my near-frozen shoulder and also with my tendonitis, especially that part where you pinch the inner armpit.

Thanks a brick. That's the best video on pain relief for severe cases of frozen shoulder out there! Unlike all those video introducing impossible to perform stretches that are fine for preventing not treating severe cases. Yay!

3:00 This is the move that worked for me, after about 3 minutes of this grab and hold I can now lift my arm overhead much more then I could before, it’s been jammed for the past 6-months, unable to move vertically above shoulder height. I’ve had 5-sessions 1/2 hour each with a local physio in the recent past with very little improvement, but a few minutes of your massage technique has produced immediate result! Thanks for the video.

Recommend looking up energy healing and what causes left vs. right frozen shoulder. I limited my interactions with certain people, and I come back to this video less often!

I literally cried doing this. I have severe fibromyalgia and was experiencing frozen shoulder. This is the BEST help I’ve received! I had been in pain for over a week & I have full motion range in my left shoulder now, Thank you so much Rachel! New subby !

I just had rotator cuff surgery four and a half weeks ago I don't see my doctor until April 10th I want to make sure I don't have a frozen shoulder I don't know really how to diagnose it myself. Do you have special massage for newbies

Excellent video , thank you so much. I have been experiencing frozen shoulder for more than a year. The pain has got less over time , but reappear on and off. Today is my second session and I feel much relieved and my mobility has improved much. Definitely, will continue on and check on other videos

I've been suffering for months with my left shoulder developing frozen shoulder. I know the pain as I had it in my right shoulder a few years ago. It took 9 months of physio to help me. I had my physio assessment a few weeks ago and was 4 exercises, one of which requires me to kneel down on the floor - I'm not finding that effective at all. However coming across your video today, I've sat and followed your instructions and it has given some relief from that pain. I'll be incorporating your massage techniques within my other shoulder exercise routine. Thank you!

Alhamdulillah! Its been a year I experience the frozen shoulder. I cry almost every night and scared to see doctor. Ive been trying almost everything related to this in KZfaq and just now I found your video. Been in extreme pain for the past few hours, then stumbled across this video..releasing the lats and subscap is what did it for me… rotated my arm and felt multiple popping, and now the pain has subsided and ROM has increased… thanks soo much 😊

Really helpful. I thuhgt I had a frozen sahoulder but now diagnosed as a subscapular injury after a fall. Been doing this as a 'warm-up' before exercises from my physio. Already much more movement after just a few days.
