They should have included season one episode 4 "The Naked Time" where a disease Sulu grabs Uhura and says "I'll protect you fair maiden." Which Uhura replies "Sorry I'm neither." One of the best lines in TV history. R.I.P Nichelle your work with Star Trek T.O.S and N.A.S.A was an inspiration to countless young people. You're hailing the stars now, Uhura. Thank you, Nichelle. 😔

She was the first woman I ever had a serious crush on. I met her and James Doohan at a ComiCon in NYC in 1977 or 78. What an absolutely beautiful woman. So captivating. She was at the forefront of changing times and the ways people viewed television, especially in those turbulent and heady times of the 60s. She was an excellent, multi-talented woman and a vivid personality. I will never, ever forget the way she told the Martin Luther King Jr. encounter story when she was on the verge of quitting Star Trek. She also displayed some great range when she took on the role of a madam in the movie Truck Rollins, with Isaac Hayes and Yaphet Koto. For the times, it was a mean and heavy role and she pulled it off very, very well. Now, she joins of the ranks of my ever growing list of heroes and heroines who have gone on to the next life. I feel saddened, but I also very blessed to have watched her do some very fine work. Thank you for everything you've ever done, Nichelle, for both me, and for humanity.

Watching this hit me harder than I thought it would. I just turned 50 and grew up on TOS and the original cast movies. Farewell Nichelle Nichols.

You have opened doors for others, to view the world, and beyond. Travel well into your own final frontier, Godspeed and love.

Her 2019 documentary _Woman In Motion_ is one to watch. It's one thing to have celebrity, what Nichelle Nichols did with it in the 1970s is astonishing.

What can I say about this wonderful lady. I grew up watching Lt. Uhura right up there with Capt. Kirk...Mr. Spock and Scotty...truth be known she commanded the Enterprise with her poise, grace, confidence and style. Of Miss Nichelle I admired her back during the original series...but I admired her as a woman, a beauty and a culture icon to this world 🌎. Her voice was truly a sound for the ages...Her style intelligence and dignity set the bar very high for those who followed her steps...both on the bridge of the Enterprise and here with us all. Rest in peace wonderful one.

Nichelle was my first crush as a boy. Her poise grace and stunning beauty will be missed!
