Remove bubbles from epoxy project after epoxy has cured. If you've ever worked with epoxy making tables or other projects you run across the situation where you end up with bubbles. Yes those pesky bubbles they're not there and then they're there where do they come from they come from cracks in the woods small micro cracks in the wood that hold air in the air is releasing after you cover your project with epoxy. you can remedy this problem by applying a seal coat resin before you do your pour. unfortunately I figured this out after the fact. I wound up having one area of my project release bubbles continually and caused me that problem and you'll see in the video to finish project had a lot of bubbles and it looked bad. in this video I show you how to fix this problem of bubbles in your epoxy for after it's cured. I do this by using a carving tool but you can use other things like a router possibly a plunge router may work well too. I grind away the cured epoxy that holds the bubbles this is a messy process so I recommend wearing a mask when grinding this epoxy. after I grind away the epoxy holding the bubbles and feel the area is sufficient to do a report next I clean up all the epoxy shavings and sand the entire surface of the project to 320 grit using my orbital sander. now that I have the project ready to accept a new pour I wipe away all the slurry that is left behind from the sanding because I use water to lubricate while sanding. after this I use alcohol to clean the entire surface to prepare it for the new pour. I mix up my epoxy using a one-to-one mixture recommended by the manufacturer, then I do the spot pours in the areas that need it first like the ground area where the bubbles were cured in the epoxy resin. once I have the spot pours done then I do it total pour over the entire project spreading it evenly. I use my fingers in hand to smooth out the edges. next I use the heat gun to remove any bubbles that may be appearing and I have to stay on top of this because once I remove the bubbles more will return so I have to check it periodically and remove bubbles as needed this time I'm not getting as many bubbles which is great. but as you will see in the end there are still a couple one or two bubbles that decided that they would appear.
