EASY DIY to show you How to Remove a BMW Bonnet Badge or Remove a BMW Boot Badge. Also known as BMW Hood Emblem and BMW Trunk emblem.
BMW badge replacement is relatively straight forward but if precautions aren’t taken, when you change a BMW roundel it can be easy to damage the new badge itself or the paint on your car! When you replace a BMW Emblem it is often (but not always) held on by grommets, sometimes it is mounting tape. Or if the BMW logo change has been done before, it could be a combination of both.
I will show you a few different techniques that will allow you to replace a BMW badge whether it is the BMW Boot badge, the bmw bonnet badge or in the case of the BMW E85 / BMW E86, a BMW fender emblem / front wing emblem.

Zed doesn't have grommets, it has nuts on the back. They are accessed by removing one of the grills below the badge.

Thanks for your comment! Not doubting you but mine came off pretty easily with levering, so I never thought to check! New one came with grommets, even though it was a genuine part from BMW? So, I fixed on with the grommets and it has been there ever since with no issues... Hopefully the vid is still helpful to most Beemer owners out there!

@@ReviveMyRide Thanks for the reply, I was just weary at trying to pry it off. I was replacing the grills and noticed the nuts. Think the e85/86 is the only one that have them, I believe they a fractionally smaller in diameter, but yours looks great. The smaller ones are pricey from the dealer. Think the aftermarket will suffice. Thanks for the video.

Hi, oN the E85 & E86, the bonnet badge is 82mm diameter. As I'm sure you know, this is an unusual size, so it is hard to find aftermarket ones the right size... Thanks, Phil

Thanks, I didn't have any trouble getting my old badge off by levering but I accept that it may have had nuts on the other side. Not 100% sure, maybe it had been changed before? The car is 16yrs old. The new one that I fitted was push fit into grommets, as you can see in the vid...
