That does answer the question, I have an exchange server that get the security cert error and I believe in Outlook 2016 which you can not modify the account settings for

I'm using Outlook 365 and mail worked perfectly to/from our server at GoDaddy. Added a Firewall and now getting this certificate error. Our domain name does not match the GoDaddy certificate name (Starfield). Removing mail from the incoming and outgoing does not work. Any other suggestions?

SSL Cert errors are caused by a cert mismatch in your email settings. Make sure you check your SSL/TLS settings with your existing provider and then update outlook with those settings.

what if the certificate already correct for outlook.com? but keep prompting in the first i open the outlook. fyi, the prompt issued by esset antivirus

Even though this is a nice, informative video, it did not solve my problem. For those who still have problem after this, install Office Service Pack 3 for your version(i used 2007). (i had other problems like Outlook did not jump to the newest emails if i was using ascending order in the inbox listing, always had to scroll down manually, SP3 fixed it as well)

I'm getting a similar error after we moved from an imap server to exchange online as part of 365. Outlook on mac Error that a secure connection cannot be established to the new exchange online autodiscover server because of an old imap autodiscover server certificate in the cert chain. Can I just hide or remove that cert from the mac to clear the error?

John, are you using a cPanel host? I had webmail open so that I could view the SSL/TLS settings easily. It will vary based on provider.

Does NOT work with Outlook 2016. Different Ports Interface does not display.

In Outlook 2016 click on "repair" then expand "advanced" and check "let me repair my account manually". This will get you to ports interface.

Hi mine is alittle different, when am on off-LAN we get this error "There is a problem with the proxy server's security certificate. outlook is unable to connect to proxy server XXXX.domain (error code 80000000)"

It depends on your email service provider. You have to set up your secure connection with your existing provider.
