I have done magazines before, too. I like the humidity on the inside suggestion. My usual method is to clean the magazine, then humidify it in my vaporizer chamber, and then I let the book dry overnight. I lightly press it at 160 degrees. No staple issues so far. Knock on wood. And the newspaper inserts you are talking about are actually newsprint with a little more sizing to make a cheaper gloss paper.

i want to frame several 1950's Sports Illustrated magazine, and first i want the old address label off for presentation. I tried Un-Du on the worst condition mag since i was new to trying this. I seemed to get off about 90% of the label, but the glue/adhesive on the magazine is very tough and Un-Du isn't getting it off, and now i feel the Un-Du bottle scraper is damaging the book and removing color - actually - i think the adhesive is coming off and color is coming with it. Any suggestions?
