removing steering column on BMW e90

It is not necessary to lift the front of the car up. I did it because i wanted the steering to rotate for like 5° as shown in the thread in step 11 to achieve step 12 more easy. For me it did'nt work, so i had to go from the enignes side to open up that bolt. That worked pretty well!

How did you realign it to the rack? I’ve accidentally slid mine out whilst removing the subframe and I can’t figure out how to align it

Do you have to undo something from underneath the front wheel area? I have unbolted everything from inside the car and the column is free but I can't pull the thing out

Was the column knocking from the lower bush/bearing?
