6:50 and 18:18 with those plastic clips, push the center pin IN further and it will release the clip and then pop the whole clip out. when they are installed, you push clip in, push the pin till its level and locked. then if you push it in further, it releases again.

I changed a mates stereo yesterday in one of these. It’s like you have no room to do anything. Why build in the stereo. Fitted an amp too. Literally nowhere to run a power wire to the battery from inside. All done now but Jesus it was winding me up. My car I just drilled through fire wall but when it’s not your car you tend to have to do it the right way

Very informative. You are doing a great service for DIY mechanics.. My instrument cluster lights keep going off and coming back on. What do you suggest is the fault

You need to open it and check carefully, Or there is a cold solder and it lights up and goes out when moving, Or the problem is in the socket that plugs it into the power supply.

If I’m just removing the central dash air vent and replacing it because the plastic cracked, do i need to disconnect the battery? Or just have the car off?

In my opinion, for greater safety, it would be better to disconnect the battery
