Here is some additional information on Ren's story that I gathered from old newspaper interviews, articles, and Ren's public livestreams and posts. A handful of people frequently post an earlier version of my comment to various reactions that they copied and pasted verbatim, so if this is a repeat just ignore this comment. I keep editing the information, as needed, and have removed details about Ren that some found to be too personal, such as his full name and D.O.B. All the information here was gathered exclusively from sources Ren personally approved for public release. Ren is a British musician/independent artist/producer, self-taught multi-instrumentalist; originally from Wales. Ren pursued a career in music from an early age. In 2009, while studying music performance at Bath Spa University, Ren began to experience health issues and was struggling to attend his lectures, which eventually caused him to discontinue his studies and return home. In addition, Ren was signed by Sony Records in 2010 and was working on an album when his health deteriorated to the point that he was unable to go on; consequently, his contract with Sony was dissolved. Ren would later relocate to Brighton. Ren's illness often kept him in bed for up to 23 hours daily. Ren was initially misdiagnosed with depression, bipolar disorder, and chronic fatigue syndrome, which led him to experience psychosis and develop PTSD. It would take seven years before a doctor in Belgium finally correctly diagnosed Ren with autoimmunity, Lyme disease, and resulting damage to the brain, organs, joints, and PTSD. Ren eventually underwent stem cell therapy in the United States, which improved his health, but it has not been a cure. Ren is in Calgary, Canada for at least six months (Summer of 2023), undergoing treatments such as IV therapy and other interventions five days a week, as well as surgeries (wisdom tooth removal and cavitation surgery). His Canadian doctor discovered that Ren also developed a condition called Mast Cell Activation Disorder (MCAD), which has affected the myelin sheath in his brain, his thyroid, and adrenals as well as his bones/joints. Hence, Ren is receiving additional treatments for this previously undiagnosed condition. He recently took a break from treatments and returned to the UK to visit family and friends, and to produce some very ambitious musical projects to be released soon. I just saw your Hi Ren reaction, and put this journal entry of Ren's as my comment to that reaction. I'm posting it here , so you don't miss it. jAN 01, 2023 rEN~ Up until I was 9 years old, I would intermittently hear a voice in my head that was not my own. The voice was distinctly different to mine, and always negative. It would self criticise or urge me to do things I knew to be morally wrong. The most peculiar thing about the voice was that it took no effort on my behalf to produce. My own thoughts always felt like there was a process that required effort to bring them to the forefront of my mind, this voice appeared as though it was spoken by another. The sentences felt predetermined like they had already been constructed. I remember very vividly at 9 years old, becoming very frustrated with the voice. I stood in my back yard, internally screaming at the voice to be silent again and again, and it did. In a flash there was silence, to the point where my head felt like an empty room. I wasn't used to the quiet and that voice never returned. It almost felt lonely in my head. When I got older I had intermittent bouts with auditory hallucinations where I would hear perfect symphonies, usually at night when drifting off to sleep. They were so clear that they sounded like they were emanating from a radio in the corner of my room. I knew they weren't there, but for some reason they never came with the feeling of fear. I also recall sitting on a bus at the age of 15, and hearing the sound of a crowded room, with about 100 voices chattering away, I was the only person apart from the driver on the bus. These experiences were always very brief, and few and far between. My last hallucination was during an intense bout of psychosis in 2015, and was my first visual hallucination. I was walking down a pavement after jumping out my mums car in a crossroads in a moment of frustration and distress with my condition. I was trying to run from myself. What appeared to be a homeless man with a dark complexion approached me, and asked me what was wrong. I explained that I had been sick most my life, and I wasn't sure I had the strength to continue. He looked at me, and smiled and told me 'everything is going to be okay in the end Ren.' I had not told him my name. There was something so overpoweringly sincere about this very simple message, which brought with it an overwhelming feeling of inner peace, and in a flash, he vanished. My rational brain always linked these experiences to what the doctors have told me, that there are parts of my brain compromised by the autoimmunity in my body. That the myelin sheaths surrounding the complex electrical system that conduct my thoughts were damaged and compromised, causing these lucid experiences that I knew did not exist inside the physical world. The part of me that edges away from logical and rational thought always attributed these thoughts to some kind of otherworldly intervention, that made my thoughts the battleground of some spiritual tug of war. For a long time I never really acknowledged this part of myself, for with it brought the danger and stigma of sounding like a crazy person. I decided with my latest release, to the best of my ability, to capture and express this chess match of thought. Hi Ren comes out in just over 24 hours. I can't wait for you all to hear it.

Ren’s my favourite these days but we can’t expect him to be everybody’s favourite - especially not immediately. He’s a lot to take in. I’m discovering that as I try to get people to listen to him - people have their own thing and they don’t want to change lanes. I’m older so I can hear all the combined influences he brings. It’s impressive because a lot of it was before his time. The the theatre/ performance art aspect. I always thought the people into theatre were the coolest when I was younger - saw lots of improv and little indie performances. That’s what the unique, eccentric creative geniuses did and I always admired them. I’m glad to see younger people reviving it/ keeping that going.

I love this song, but it's not really something I'm bumping in the car to (unless I want to cry for some reason). His song "Animal Flow" is one of my favorite songs on my playlist. Ren is unique, massively creative and also a Master Lyricist and Genre-Flipper. He is his own category. Yes - Live - in One Take and 3 camera's. He does a lot of One takes. BUT this is just a small taste of what he does. There are a number of pieces that reflect his experiences moving in and out of the Mental Health System, when his Lyme Disease was misdiagnosed as a Psychiatric Illness. His music career was just starting to take off in his early 20's when he lost almost 10 years to illness and searching for a correct diagnosis. My daughter struggles with an autoimmune disease and psychosis due to the pain and isolation. This song made me burst in tears when I first heard it. I could hear her in this song. When I showed this to her, great tears ran down her face as she said, “Exactly.” As a mother it is never easy knowing your baby is in pain, physical and emotional and there isn’t a damn thing I can do about it except BE THERE. And pray. To any of you who suffer, you aren’t alone. I promise.

Glad your looking at Ren. He also is sick he has had Lyme disease for like the last 10 years and was misdiagnosed. He is in Canada right now get treatment. That is the basis of some of his songs. That he was a very sick boy and they just kept pumping him with meds that messed with his mind that he didn’t need. But man out of that horror story came his music. 😊
