Loved your reaction. Sorry about all your troubles with KZfaq. Here's my thoughts on the biblical references: 'I lift up my eyes to the hills' (from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord...) is from Psalm 121, often suggested reading for people who are suffering. Ren has made this into a complaint about unanswered prayer. This follows on from the questions in his song Dear God. 'Pain is my Shepard, my sword and my shield...I find my refuge in patience and pills... I walk through the valley of the shadow of sickness... I fear no evil ' intentionally misquotes Psalm 23 (The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want...Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.) Again, another Bible passage that is supposed to be comforting but it can feel like a slap in the face when you're suffering and it feels like God doesn't care/ doesn't exist/ doesn't have power. 'I need no forgiveness. Deliver me from temptation, he never listens' refers to the Lord's prayer which Jesus teaches in Matthew chapter 6 ( ...And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil... ) I love the way Ren has flipped these well known passages to make a point. You can hear the anger in his voice when he says these lines.

Such a fricking masterpiece. The contrast between the raw rapping and beautiful singing is just perfect and the production is amazing. Ren is truly something special. Also I love all the little bits of reoccurring lyrics throughout these songs. It’s like everything is connected in a Reniverse tapestry and I can’t wait to hear how the entire album works together. Clever, creative, and so authentic 🐰🕳️

I also can picture this being part of a movie soundtrack. Ren has said before that Money Game 3 is his favorite song and the one he is most proud of! That means he thinks MG 3 is better then this song?!?! My brain just might implode on Oct 12! Banging reaction as usual!!

Don't know where that beat originated, but it's the "wait" music on his Twitch stream before he goes live. It's the synthetic food, manmade crap in the water (did you know Viagra is in the water supply now?) and the all-pervasive micro-plastics in the oceans and PFAa (largely from Teflon) that are in almost everyone's bodies now. It's no wonder autoimmune diseases are also everywhere. Love this reaction and your channel. 💜💜💜

Only because Ren is wholly independent and a genius are we able to get this music. If he were limited to what the label wanted, we'd get four chords. If he weren't a genius, we'd get "a sound" that defined him. Luckily, we get Ren. Pure and unadulterated.

Geezer in the UK isn't tied to being old. It's just a guy...and it doesn't have the same negative connotation as it does in the states. Say a friend of yours came up with a great plan for a night out amongst a group of friends that often can't agree on where to go, you might say something like "Colin's a brilliant geezer, no one could find a thing to complain about."
@Caseyd1966
@Caseyd1966 11 ай бұрын
Thanks for the explanation - I had no idea that it had a completely different meaning in the UK.
@AndrewJonesMcGuire
@AndrewJonesMcGuire 11 ай бұрын
Though it's worth being aware, like much of the language in the UK - context is key. Calling someone a geezer without any other descriptive words is generally negative, however the tone it is said in can also change the context. But for example "he's a bit of a geezer" is negative. "What a geezer" would generally be positive. "What a fucking geezer" can be positive or negative depending on the tone used when it's said. We LOVE making it complicated for non native speakers. Additionally just to add an extra layer of confusion for non native speakers, disparaging someone is typically only negative when it's someone you don't actually know, otherwise it's a social bonding thing 😋 for example "fucks sake man, what a wanker" said in a friend group, is not actually negative 😉

PS "geezer" (from the urban dictionary): "It means a man but can also refer to a certain type of man who is a bit dodgy or even mean a man you admire and respect, it's all about context." On the one hand a "geezer" is an "ordinary man", but it can also mean a man that is a bit "dodgy" - an "irregular guy".

Nb meant the female vocal sample, not the other sample I think I've identified a few background samples sounds commonly heard during particular medical emergencies... but I'm going to ask a hosptal-working family member to have a listen and to let me know if I'm just "wanting" to hear them. It could be that that the real sounds are different enough that they are probably just similar sounds on instruments. The timing of that drum beat drop out timed perfectly with one particular idea though and made me stop wondering why I was getting flashbacks that seemed completely out of context eith the song. Next few times all I could here was how many parts of that condition line up with the song, and even if accidental I've now got a way to reframe a terrifying traumatic experience, and go "well it's in a song now, I can play it at my psychologist for a few trauma sessions until its unpacked" and already have somehow had countless grueling months of sessions shaved off total cPTSD therapy burden, and somehow feel tied up in a bow and a song that will hold extra meaning for me, on top of how mindblowingly amazing it is, and will always be to me.

Hi, mate. Good to see you not having trubs with your channel right now, and what a tune to wake up to! Bless your bloodshot eyes for bringing this to us when you're tired! A few things that I'm sure have been mentioned but I can't scroll down that far. He wrote this a few years ago, so it's his head back then. Still relevent though. His Polo shirt bar: Remember the film The Fly with Jeff Goldblum? Well he had the same set of clothes for every day of the week because he needed his brain to focus on the tasks at hand, and finding something that goes with something else would've wasted his time. I think Ren focusing on the same shirt is a metaphor for that - messing about with clothes was the last thing on his mind, even though he does it well nowadays. That's me for now. I have other things to say but it would just be waffle (like usual hah!) right now, I'm also tired. Peace and love.
