I had a vivid dream I was standing on a bridge with a group of people. We were looking at the northern lights in the night sky. Suddenly, I saw a cross in the sky. It was as if it was made of millions of stars. Two years ago I became a christian, Today, this song played over and over in my head. I read the lyrics and felt God was speaking to me through this song and dream. Renaissance means 'reborn'. God bless this group and song.

After suffering the "stars" of to-days inane warblings, it's just great to listen to a class band, and a very classy singer (who can actually sing) come to that.

John Camp is an excellent bass player and was an essential anchor to the band including his harmonies.
@loucontino48042 жыл бұрын
Camp is one of the finest musicians in rock music ever. Far too many people think only The Big 6 in prog-rock, but Renaissance and Gentle Giant were right there and both of their bass player/vocalists were stellar.

His few writing contributions to the band are also brilliant although he was definitely the Harrison of the band to Mike Dunfords Paul/John. Still brilliant in his own right but in a band with the literal greatest songwriter of all time. Yes I just invoked the Beatles and said I prefer Dunfords writing lmao deal with it Actually this is funny because Harrison wrote the best most perfect Beatles song

Having some of their early work on vinyl (e.g. "A Trip to the Fair") I at first wondered HOW I could have missed this gem, which I deem the finest from this group. Then I saw the date; 1983. In those years I was working under the Northern Lights of the arctic, for real. Even radio could hardly reach so far in those days, to my loss!

Annie looks gorgeous in her 80's getup. : ) I have always found it amusing how all the great prog bands of the 70's battled the early 80's New Wave look and sound. Renaissance was no exception. So hard to be prog and yet look current/hip ala Human League or The Cars. Songs also had to be scaled down and a bit more edgy as well. Rough time for prog music but thankfully most of our beloved groups are still out there performing and making great music!
