My Peugeot pepper mill is 50 years old, still kicking, my mother bought it before my birth and I am in my 40s. Her Renault encore on the other hand lasted 5 years. Not sure why I posted this I guess I just wanted to fit in the convo, happy new year all.

I've got a Renaultsport Clio 197. I've owned multiple JDM nutters like the Impreza Turbo, Legacy GTB Twin Turbo and the MR2 Turbo. Those cars feel like more of an occasion when you drive them, but the Renaultsport is more fun to drive than all of them.

Some history...Pierre Lefaucheux was killed in a rollover while driving Renault's big sedan at the time, the Frégate. Yes, the Dauphine was rear-engined, and used the same engine as the 4CV, which you confused with the Citroën 2CV BTW... Good topic you guys picked for this installment!

My father had a Renault 20 TX and my great uncle had a Renault 30 V6. They were super comfy and were used by the French president. Regarding the rot... yes, my father's car engine would have lasted forever but he drew a line when his feet could go through the floor... like in the flintstones. But to be honest, that was after two decades of salty roads, Samsung actually makes cars too!

Renault also was one of the first manufacturers to build an affordable EV with the Renault Zoe in 2013 which was the most successful EV in Europe for several years. I gotta say I don't feel Ohm as a car brand name and i don't think any brand would want to use the unit of resistance as their Name...

My favorite Renault is the 4...as raced by Pablo Escobar....they sold 8.5 million of them during their run (61-83)...i just sold my van version the R4F4...another great looking Renault was the Fuego...check that one out...

my dad had a red 18 gtx!! he keep the plastic covers for the rear seat for a year!! Not cool on summer dad!! them he stepped up with a Renault 21 TXE new silver!!! That I crashed... and bent the front frame.. never give a 17years old kid a cool car.. Ohh La La La Renault... good memories..
