You sir, deserve sooo many more subscribers. Something as simple as holding CTRL+ALT to adjust size and hardness of a brush is not taught really, even as a 4th semester graphic design major and already taken Graphic Design I and II, Digital Photography, Digital Imaging, and Video and Filmmaking, this shortcut was never taught in any of those courses. As a student TA this semester, I will most definitely refer to this tutorial for learning purposes to other students as well as my professor. Hats off to you and your abilities to teach.

at 33:16 what did you do to set the ellipse axis? Seems like a very useful tip
@graphicswizardry
@graphicswizardry 6 жыл бұрын
Hi 505, it's fairly simple - basically you do ctrl-T to get the transform handles for the ellipse then you grab the one for the minor axis using the rotate mode and drag it out - basically I've found that if you visualise the vanishing point for that axis and drag towards that you can eyeball it really neatly and pretty much guarantee the correct angle. I see my students ALWAYS seem to misunderstand how the axes of ellipses work in relation to perspective so I guess it is quite useful.

the tutorial doesn't work. I do exactly as you say and it makes the area around the pen shape grey not the inside.
@graphicswizardry
@graphicswizardry 7 жыл бұрын
Hi, this is a problem with older PS versions, it's explained here: forums.adobe.com/thread/715227 basically you need to go to the options bar and make sure the pen selection is set to ADD TO PATH AREA rather than any of the others. That should work, sorry you've had a problem with it, it's a good method when it works!
