They are so talented! Jimin's solo, no matter how often I see it, is jawdroppingly good. It's just such a pity that Jhope's solo is so dark, it's a disservice to both him and us as it makes it hard to see his superb dance moves.

These award shows take about 7 hours to record. Bts as the biggest group usually appears at the end . their performances are like full scale concerts.

❣️Jimin’s solo performance, wearing a modernized hanbok just fastened by ties only, had many different dance elements in it! Including the barrel leaps taken from Korean dance elements, some martial arts elements, (trained for 8 yrs in various forms w/blackbelt in Taekwondo), & of course contemporary dance. Also, equally ever so stunningly outstanding, was Jimin's scarf work, which is alone so hard to master, without getting that ever so thin veil of a scarf all tangled! Jimin somehow was able to make the scarf one with himself, using it as an extension, even at one point when he did that amazing jump leap straight up the scarf becoming his wings!! Jimin's whole performance was so amazingly stunningly beautiful. Just so effortlessly breathtakingly mesmerizing to see!! Though the other members did a version of their solo performances for benefit of the live audiences, for the broadcast version as seen here, viewer see the prerecorded version, that was prerecorded the day before, since especially JK’s performance in water with that heavy tank that weighed a ton wouldn’t be able to maneuver for live audience, as well as some of the other effects seen like for Mikrokosmos, also the part with the horses was obviously prerecorded as a safeguard for the horses. It also gave a chance for BTS come up for air as well as give them time to change. Jimin was the only one who didn’t have the benefit of prerecorded VCR, which meant that for his solo performance by the broadcasted version, viewers saw Jimin perform live only. While the broadcast version showed for rest of members the prerecorded version. But once again the live audience did get an opportunity to see BTS members do a version of their solos. 🙏👍❤️‍🔥😍🔥🔥

Watched this live...the way I was screaming and cheering and was awestruck.. just couldn't believe what they were pulling off at every turn.. I was just going really? The live aerial performances to horses to just THEM! 5 years later, it still amazes me! I can say with full conviction that no artist can ever come close when it comes to stage performances.

We were speechless when the presentation ended, they showed it live on KZfaq for more than half an hour glued to the screen, it was really incredible, I had never seen a presentation of such quality, in my country it was breakfast time in South Korea I think it was more than midnight, I can only say that BTS is an exceptional group and I am very proud of them, thank you for your reaction and for appreciating them, greetings💜💜

Jungkook performance was probably my favourite but Jimin also was amazing!

When Cagin said "they are really bulletproof", it made me feel so proud of the boys. They work really hard, sometimes they have to get pure oxygen after performing. It's crazy.

A curiosity about Boy with lov. In the verse where Jin sings "come be my teacher" we see in the choreography Suga pointing at Jhope and vice versa. They do this because Suga taught Jhope how to rap and Jhope taught Suga how to dance when they were trainees. In music Dionysius each of the 7 members represented differente Greek Gos. Jin was Athena, Suga was Hephaesus or Hades, Hobi was Zeus, Rm was Dionysius, V was Apollo, Jimin was Artemis and Jung kook was Poseidon. I miss my boys🇧🇷💜💜

as far as i know its ONLY JIMIN who performed his solo LIVE while the rest are pre recorded. Horses as u know are sensitive to sound so No it cant be performed live with screaming audience. Jimin was phenomenal as it went VIRAL VIRAL.

The last song - Dyonisus, all 15 minutes are related to the greek mythology and to Dyonisus the god of wine. All boys represent the greek Gods of Olympus: Taehyung is Apollo- the God of sun, Jin is Ares the god of war with his horse, Jimin is Artemis the goddes of the Moon, Suga is Hephaestus the god of fire, Jungkook represents Poseidon, the god of the oceans, Jhope is Zeus and the laser light represents Zeus thunder weapon and RM is Dyionisus and the stick wich he held is Thyrsus, Dyionisis stick covered in ivy vines. The seven lights represents Corona Boreallis constelation which is the crown that mortal wife of Dyionisus wear on their wedding day. After his wife died he put that crown on the Sky an made the constellation to comemorate his wife. The girls with the flowers represents the Maenad - Dyionisus female followers who are dancing and throw flowers when they acompanied Dionysus. The gigant horn represent Dionysus cup of wine also called drinking horn. The men on horses represent the thracian horseman clan that worshipped Dionysus and the Panther baloon represent one of Dionysus sacred animal. Each boy dance on a song of their previous albums. Well, for the Mikrokosmos that stage actually recorded earlier, and added with some graphics. So that stage shown on tv and screen at the venue while the members change for the next stage. The same as the members solo stage also, some are recorded and some are live. So not all the performances are live stage, some of them are recorded. But nonetheless, you just know their stage perf literally so much great and different than the others 😉

This award show performance was supposed to be the send-off of the global tour for Map of the Soul and then they were going to enlist in the military. The COVID pandemic changed all that. The tour was canceled and their enlistment was delayed. While BTS usually gets more time than other performers, this was especially long due to the circumstances. It's still an amazing event and it's crazy that it was at an award show. What you are watching is the broadcast version so some elements are digitally added to the broadcast that were not present during the live performance. As a side note, there are no issues with reacting to Big Hit MVs if you show the Big Hit intro of the video. Melon and other TV broadcast performances are sticklers for copyright and you may want to make sure to put a filter over the video as you are watching.

It's an important show because it celebrates BTS being the first artists ever to sweep all the grand prizes in one show and as many have mentioned, some of that waa pre-recorded. Not that they can't do that, their concerts last longer than that, but it's an award show, some things wouldn't be possible to do in time and they would take over the whole backstage (the horses for example - thankfully they weren't exposed to so much noise - and can you imagine the mess backstage if they were there?😂). Their hand sign is not seven, it's a gun. It goes with the "bulletproof" part of their name. With time it also evolved - they've mentioned that they thought that they're bulletproof but they've realized that they are the bullet and ARMY is their proof (or a shield). IIt basically symbolizes the ammunition they give ARMYs to face their everyday struggles, to block all those bad things that happen in life. It was the first time ever when I've heard someone calling it a seven, but that sounds cute too - I can see how people would've thought of that. In the dance break they come as the Greek gods. V is Apollo, Jin is Athena, Jimin is Artemis, Suga is Hephaestus, Jungkook is Poseidon, j-Hope is Zeus and RM is Dionysus. The lights that appear after each performances symbolize Corona Boreaalis which was a symbol of the crown that Dionysus put on his wife's head. You could watch one of their early performance - MAMA 2015 which is a friendly "battle" between them and BlockB. It's a fun performance as well. Zico (the leader of BlockB) and RM are friends. Jimin's dance part there is legendary.😈

❣️This was from the annual Melon Music Awards, a Korean award show the equivalent to the BBMA’s. BTS swept the awards, thus closed the award show, though many other artists did indeed performed beforehand. The cost of the production for BTS entertainment company BigHit, was over 500K dollars, and all the in-house production team of BigHit started planning it over half a yr beforehand! Also most of the rehearsal time that BTS had was while they were touring worldwide. But they all were quite into doing this, and somehow managed to fit in the rehearsal like they did the yr before. All the solo performances were prerecorded live with smaller audience the day before, with exception to Jimin’s solo performance, who only performed live only, without the benefit of prerecorded VCR, since there was no way to have these stage sets and tank pool of water let alone have JK who was performing the dance in water get dried and change clothes beforehand! BTS did also perform a version of their solos, while the broadcasted version saw the VCR version filmed day before. The only one who performed live only without benefit of VCR being shown,for the broadcasted version, was Jimin, who shows here being the phenomeno breathingly amazing professional dancer which he was before even signing on to BTS. Also certain songs like Mikrokosmos, as well as beginning part of RM’s Persona, was performed live beforehand and also prerecorded so they could also allow for the special effects that only people who saw the broadcast on TV in South Korea or had it stream worldwide could see that version. Also the part with the live horses was filmed beforehand without an audience. 👍❤️‍🔥😍🔥🔥
