I'd do the roof as well for two reasons. 1: It will look better and 2: heat rises, so you'd loose a lot of ehat through the roof.

Only advise for you is keep the sheets at least half inch off the floor, im a drywaller and for your first time id say you did your thing man 👏🏼

Can you explain why the gap should be there?

@@daebarron5022 Not 100% but heard to allow for flooring, and trim will cover. Maybe if water spilled and wont soak immediately

Your video was the absolute best so far. You did a GREAT job to not be a professional. It doesn't take a professional to get the job done decently. I'm proud of you for doing it and showing us that it can be done if we at least try.

Well JT I am not a Dry Waller, but it looked bang on to me. I would be proud of the job if I had done it. Looking forward to seeing the finished job. What does Anna think of it? Is she aloud in there? 👍👍👍👍👍

Nice work man. Sometimes I labour for joiners, running hundreds of those sheets upstairs in a day, up to 7 flights of stairs sometimes 🥺

Hey JT, you really should have used the moisture resistant plasterboard (sheet rock). That normal interior stuff will go all soft and soggy with the moisture in the air very quickly. You should have at least put up a moisture barrier after the insulation. This is just a thin sheet of plastic that is stapled over the wooden battens/joists/stud work before putting the sheet rock up. This then keeps the damp out in the wet/cold months. I’m from the UK and build houses, garden studios etc all the time. Keep up the good work bro

PS You HAVE to do the roof. Just doing the walls will be a complete waste of time and money.
@angelakellar4435

Question about that moisture barrier.....if you're putting that up on top of the insulation, do you still staple in all the insulation AND that plastic sheeting
@aircooledvw3043
@aircooledvw3043 Ай бұрын
@@angelakellar4435 insulation goes between the studs and the vapour barrier is stapled to the interior face of said stud work. THEN you plaster board, skim and decorate. Exterior stud face is stapled with House wrap (Tyvek), counter battened, battened and then cladding/siding

I did work with insulation about 20 years ago but that was so long ago I recently wanted to insulate my she shed it was easier than I remembered one reason was I looked on the roll first and found the end and that’s where I opened it and just rolled it up between the studs and stapled, I did wear head covering, respirator mask, long sleeves and gloves-I am 60 years old, and I have sensitive skin and asthma but I must admit not hard so I know anyone can do it! I think the more challenging part for me will be the drywall! Good luck with your insulation job.
