Judge Mathis

Жыл бұрын

The plaintiff brings her son to court. She says her son dropped out of school when he was 16 years old and started drinking and acting out. He went to jail several times and ended up homeless. The plaintiff says her son moved back in with her to help him get back on his feet, but now she’s suing for rent. The defendant argues he’s clean and sober now and is working on getting his life back on track.

I think it’s the father that should be more responsible for laying a foundation all though I know that’s easy to say since they divorced but you are right at some point as a grown up you need to take responsibility of your life some people take forever figuring that out also notice how he refers to his mother as his best friend that was a red flag immediate

This is a perfect case for women who are raising boys. No matter what the reason. You cannot give a boy everything that he wants when he asks for it. There has to be some type of consequences for his actions, and when he does good then you reward him. But you just can't give him stuff just to pacify him. Because what happens is he turns into a man, that expects everyone to give him something, and then on top of that he won't know how go get it himself.

Mom, it was you and dad’s job to keep him out of trouble up to a certain point. I understand he was difficult but we as parents gotta saddle up and take on the challenge! @@wildfiregirl1556 I don't know if I want to charge my kids rent for under a year as an adult. I like my rules and I don't want tenants. You can't make them pay rent and then make them take out the garbage, shovel the walkway, not have over night guests etc. I'll just pay my child's way.

The judge saying that boy being an alcoholic and having DUI"s is not real crimes. Those are serious crimes. He could be driving behind the wheel drunk and run over someone like a kid or anything and killl someone . JM is so weird sometimes

I couldn't sue my kinfolk under any circumstance. Family is just to precious, particularly in the black community. Unfortunately, for this defendant he owes his mother for rent. These are the guys I'm concerned about to the utmost because many have forgotten about them after being thrown to the wolves. Take care of yourselves men and respect you parents always.

He would have not dropped out at 16 if I was his parent. It seems the mother just gave up. He was a minor so he doesn't just get to drop out of school. Sometimes that's the problem we are trying to be the best friend when we should be the parent.

in my opinion , a mother should not sue her child for rent , especially when she is not even a landlord , but his mom was living with him in her own house for goodness sake . i would understand if the defendant actually had cost her money , but he didnt because her rent or mortgage did not change while he was there . and why would u want to hurt your child's credit by having a judgement put on it ? i dont think thats love , i think thats jus a way to get money and by the way she never proved they agreed on 300 per month .

@@sereneamani1713 I've found that either: 1) The parents or one parent sucked to the point it damaged the kid 2) There was another significant influence in the kids life that led them astray (uncle, aunt, cousin, friend, teacher, erc.) 3) Something traumatic happened that overrides the parents influence (assault, SA, drugs, etc.) 4) Mental illness that was either genetic or brought on by a traumatic event They've done studies on criminals and have found that they have overwhelming come from single parent homes. Two parents home are far from flawless, but it's almost always better than a single parent home.
