It's day two on the Disney Wonder and we LOVED our time in Catalina! It was our first time on this island off the coast of Los Angeles. We rented a golf cart to explore Avalon and the hills in the area! The girls also took some time to fish off the pier, we did some shopping and we had the most amazing lunch!
Back on the Wonder, we had fun at the Halloween party, and did trick or treating (it's back!)! We also had an incredible dinner at Triton's. It was such a fun day - we are so glad we got to experience it all together.

We haven't been to Catalina in FOREVER! Puttering around in a golf cart is always a great way to see the island. Ordering escargot is one of our traditions, too. We just can't say no to anything with that much butter and garlic. And yes, the amount of candy they hand out is INSANE. Looked like a great day!

I didn’t know DCL stopped at Catalina. I grew up going to Catalina. Waking up to those cinnamon rolls every morning 🥰 It was so fun to watch your video. Descanso Beach is my favorite place to go. It’s a place to go if you have the whole day to hang out on the beach. Thanks for the fun video!

They had their first stop there last spring I think, but we were their third or fourth I think! It’s a more normal stop now - we loved our day there! So glad you enjoyed watching!

Thank you Carrie! We really enjoyed the ports - this one was more port focused for us which meant less time on the Wonder, but we’ve been on it before, so that was ok. Still had a great time!and let’s hope the niners find a way to stay healthy and make something happen!

Love Catalina! Looks like you guys had an amazing time. The casino is not an actual casino. Casino means place of entertainment and it’s a theater. It’s a neat tour for next time. My husband and I did that tour on an anniversary trip and we really enjoyed it. Lots of history and dancing! Thanks for sharing!

Found you through Legglife! You all have such warm and inviting personalities. I’m looking forward to watching more of your vlogs. My kids and I were just on the Wonder for the first time for a Merrytime 5 night Baja. It’s a great ship ❤ It was our third DCL adventure. We can see Catalina from where we live and haven’t been there in years. We’ll have to go again…maybe on another cruise 😂 Oh, Little Einsteins! My daughter loved that show. She’s 14 as well. My son is 10 so I don’t think he remembers it or he didn’t watch it as much.

We took a cruise out of Long Beach to Catalina and Ensenada a few years back. We loved Catalina and wished we could go back. Wasnt really impressed with Ensenada but that is us. Great series so far.

Can we talk about the pumpkin suit? It didn’t have a respected air time has it deserved! 😂 it was totally a #OOTD post! 🤣 Glad you guys did this cruise. Been eyeing this itinerary since DCL came out with it. I’ve always wanted to go to Catalina. Only been hesitant to doing this itinerary with DCL on the Wonder since it’s just a ferry ride away for us vs DCL sticker price 😅 or the many option to do it with Carnival, NCL, Princess or RC. I picture the fish Alyssa caught like the fish in the intro of Little Mermaid 😂 IYKYK

The pumpkin suit definitely didn’t get enough time 😂 I get that feeling of visiting via ferry. I think whenever we visit there again, it will be ferry. And so good about the fish! It definitely breathed a sigh of relief! Took a minute to get the hook out of his mouth! Glad we saved him

Loved the video!! It was helpful to see how the tender boat works and that there are so many park options on Catalina my kids are going to love that. And I’m going to love Catalina coffee and cookie co! Would you say the naughty fox is toddler friendly? Thanks for the video!

Thank you 😊 So glad this was helpful! The coffee shop was fantastic! The Naughty Fox was so good and the service was incredible. They don’t have a kids menu, but it might be worth checking with the host to see if they can accommodate kids - the pasta in the Mac & cheese can likely become buttered noodles - the chef and the servers were so helpful and kind. Worth giving it a shot I think!

There’s a lot to do right by the harbor area. Good good and shopping options. I think a lot of people do that 👍 It’s definitely worth it. Some experienced longer waits getting off the ship and getting back on. Timing is everything. We were fortunate.

If you do a Q&A video on your recent cruise, I would be curious to know if anything about the cruise seemed monotonous now that you all have done multiple Disney cruises. We have only done Disney but I am curious about trying a RC cruise to see if it is more or less enjoyable for my 16 year old son.

Hi Anna Maria, I think we will talk about some of those ideas in our haul video. We saw a big difference in how our kids responded to kids clubs on this cruise, and we do have feelings/thoughts about monotony. Thanks for the idea - we’ll be sure to address it!

There are definitely a few times where we felt the Magic listing side to side during stormy seas, but it’s never made us feel sick, just a little uncomfortable at times. In our experience, you don’t feel it as much on the larger ships. There are so many ways you can protect yourself from sea sickness if you’re more sensitive to that.

Hi! If you are talking about my Mickey Halloween fancy suit coat, I got it at Disneyland earlier in September last year! We make all of our door decor. Print the designs, laminate them the slap a magnet on the back of it! A lot cheaper than buying them on Etsy! You need to have the ability to create or edit the artwork though (Canva or Photoshop).

Well, you spelled it right! Escargot is… snail. It’s a French delicacy. Once you get past what you are eating, it’s pretty good. Cooked in butter and garlic. Had it for the first time on a previous cruise and I was surprised how good it was! And thank you 😄

Currently watching your new cruise videos. But we are doing this itinerary in December. Were the golf carts offered through disney excursions? Trying to research what we may want to do there. Party of 9… only one child 😮😂

The golf carts are not offered through Disney. If you look in the descriptions video, you’ll find a link that you can go to to book these golf carts when you visit Catalina. It’s a great way to explore more of the port area and areas you really can’t get to on foot. Just make sure you book a time that gives you plenty of time to tender off of the ship to the port. Look to see when you’re scheduled to arrive, then give it maybe another hour for when you book the golf carts. And if you have a party of nine, you’ll definitely need to book a few carts 😂 When you call, just ask them what they would recommend!

I didn’t realize they had actual menus. Our servers made us use the phone / QR codes each night.

By default most people use the at code/phones, but if you ask, your server should bring the regular menus out to you. At least thats how it’s been for us since last Oct.
