Repair a Flooded BMW

Welcome back, in this episode you will see me repairing this wonderful BMW 6 Series that was flooded, I will disassemble a part of the interior , I will remove the water and dry it, I will clean the plugs that oxidized in the ultrasound bath with acid, and I will repair and replace the module from active steering, at the end I will code with Esys, erase errors, calibrate the steering box and sunroof and finally erase all errors.
And as usual everything goes perfectly !!!

I've been doing this for over 15 years, that's why some things may seem simple in this videos. I have a vast experience working with BMW MINI and Rolls Royce , abbreviated BMW Group , and that's why you may see things that seem impossible or very difficult to do, done easily !

I own a BMW 750i and just love the car. The ride is exceptional but I hate the dealership. It's like sacrificing your first-born just to pay for maintenance. Your videos are simply wonderful and insightful. I learned soooo much about my car. Especially that I don't need to pay $1B USD to do something I can do myself.

I got my headlamps dried out and now I’m going to pull the front bumper so I can pull the headlamps and pressure test them like you show in another video. I really appreciate you sharing your knowledge on these beautiful BMW’s, I own a 2013 535i with 71,067 miles on it. In the last two months my headlamps started getting a bunch of condensation in them and I never had that before, it caused her to start giving me the adaptive headlight malfunction, headlight aim, and daytime running lights alarms. After drying them out good and restarting her all those alarms went away. I’ve got to now pull the headlamp assembly’s on both sides to see where the water is coming in at and fix it. I would not have been able to do this as easy as I have without your video! Thank you for sharing your skills, I’m good working on things, but I get nervous when it comes to my BMW. Again thank you and keep posting the good videos!✌🏼❤💯

I worked on a flooded f10, tried crossing flooded road and of course got stuck in the middle when the engine ingested water. Luckily engine was fine, drained intercooler, removed interior and dried all carpets. Car ran fine years after that, if you deal with it right away nothing fails. Even after that, moisture is very dangerous if all water is not out.

Great video..Best guy for BMW for sure. . In my country you would be milionare in a year... We have bmw dealer and sefvise there is to connect computer and what it say thay tell you to buy new part from tham. Maybe 1 wire can be disconnected thay just look errors and dont bother do see the problem.. So id you want to be a millionare in 1 year, move to Croatia.

Salut ! nu ma supar , intradevar de fabrica au threadlocker dar cu timpul, mai ales ca masina a avut umezeala si nici pe viitor nu se stie prin ce va trece masina asta , vaselina e mai buna ! ( cine stie poate masina asta scapa si o sa ajunga de epoca, si cine o va desface va fi fericit ca suruburile nu sunt sudate cu rugina ) si in plus sunt scaune nu sunt roti :) , la prezoanele rotilor nu pui pasta blocanta ca doar pana la urma alea chiar sunt importante :D

40:30 Bravo, hai fatto bene a precisare questo fatto, purtroppo la gente che non è del mestiere può fraintendere facilmente. Inoltre da almeno 30 anni non esiste più il riparatore di auto, ma il cambiatore di pezzi di auto, spinti dagli obbiettivi di vendita imposti alle officine dalle varie multinazionali dell'auto, vuoi per il costo della manodopera alto, vuoi perché questo lavoro è sempre meno artigianale e certe cose bisogna saperle fare ed è un peccato che si sia perduto questo, lo dico perché mi ricordo di mio babbo(1936) che faceva il meccanico di auto e che prima di tutto era un riparatore ! 😢😢

Yes I know, ad a seat belt and some metal pices (the reinforcement) on that seat and try to lift it again 😀

Some advice on your repair of the rubber steering column boot, or well rubber in general, spraying WD40 on any rubber parts is a bad idea, in time the WD40 will make the rubber disintegrate, usually it starts by just swelling and soon after just falling appart. Use silicone spray instead to make things glide. I would replace that rubber boot you shown, It's a pain in the absolute bum to replace though. once it pops off its a giant pain to put back in general. I think a lot of people pop these off and spray some stuff down in the steering clumn to fix another common issue, steering creeeks, especially in cold weather, My fix is to spray silicone spray down through the boot without taking it off. saves the pain and this problem aswell. Great video as always though, fixing drowned cars is a horrible job. full respect.

Thanks for your advice 👍, I didn't use the wd40 on the rubber I have used it to lube the shaft for the nylon bush to easy slide back , but for that rubber piece to be affected by the wd40 will need to be soaked for a quite long period time in oil . If you respect the procedure and have the necessary tools nothing is to complicated 😀

hello! I don't know from where you can download it , normally if you are in the field, you normally have a guy who is dealing with selling and offer support for diagnosis equipment. if not, you can try online to buy an SSD with all the programs installed.

You should have checked also the sealing of the doorcovers. This is one of the most common causes for water ingress in these cars. I had the rear of my car (F11) flooded with water, even more than in your car. Came from bad covers in the rear doors. The seals harden out over time. BMW does this bad design since a long time (had the same problem in my E39).

You're talking about the anti-condensation barrier ( that is the name of that part ), but it wasn't from there , off camera I did several thorough checks including sunroof drains. The problem you say is not caused by BMW, on the contrary, that system is very good, but when someone who messes around where he shouldn't , and doesn't seal them back correctly, you will have problems with water like you already have experienced . That reusable sealant does not dry and it is an very high quality sealant !

Hola buenas días no sé si me vas a entender porque soy español pero tengo un bmw F10 530 del año 2011 motor n-57 y tengo un problema con el head display que me alumbra para abajo si funciona pero alumbra para abajo y luego la cámara trasera tampoco me funciona funciona los sensores y hay a veces que en los espejos en los triángulos donde detecta cuando te adelantan también da fallo porque hay a veces que nadie me adelanta y se dan ellos solos me podrías dar algún consejo o algo porque para llevarle hasta donde estás tú qué pena que no estás en España porque eres una máquina un genio gracias

I got this I problem in my 2013 BMW X3 and the driver footwell has water on the carpet. And when turning in the car it would shake and I got “chassis stabilization” and “traction control” warning light. It let me shift between gears but when I would accelerate it would have no power

No , and yes , depending on the damages and who's doing it, if you don't know how to do it and need to pay someone else to do it for you! The answer is No , will cost you more than a good running one

Salut Daca este nevoie o aduc la tine dar sigur are ceva minor Bmw e90 facelift 2.0 diesel Nu da la automat Am schimbat panou siguranțe din torpedo Modul de sub panou de siguranțe Verificat cablu + din spate pana in fata Verificat masa de pe caroserie Iam scos aseara mufele la modul si releu negru si in seara asta a pornit cu toate ca imi scria ca nu poate porni,toate erorile posibile,dupa ce a pornit electromotoru tot învârtea dupa ce a pornit,nu functioneaza închiderea centralizata si servo deloc,precizez ca a inceput sa faca dupa ce am schimbat broasca sofer.pusa noua,iam scos mufa si la aia tot degeaba,daca scot modulul de sub tablou de sigurante si il bag inapoi merge perfect 2 saptamani dupa care iar platforma .astept un raspuns te rog.multumesc

Salut, in primul rand va trebui facuta o diagnosticare completa, cand zic diagnosticare completa nu ma refer doar la citit codurile de eroare!!! Asa sa te apuci sa schimbi piese ca presupui ca .... sau sa repari dupa pareri nu vei rezolva nimic , e o pierdere de timp!
