It is nice to know that these little hatchbacks have a full compliment is safety systems to protect the occupants. It does however make them extremely tedious to repair! Nice job Rob, in that sweltering heat 🥵

On leftover nuts and bolts- in WW2, Brian Johnston the cricket commentator was on a tank mechanic course, for reasons only known to the army. Having stripped and reassembled the engine, he and his mate had 4 large bolts left over. Not wanting to get the usual army tratment for a fail, they decided to put the bolts in the pocket of another trainee. That trainee was a certain Alec Douglas Home- later to become Prime Minister! True story!

Kudos to you Rob for changing that dash in the blazing sun! Just a thought for next summer, maybe get some kind of shelter or carport that you could put up in the summer so you could do some work outside without getting baked in the sun. Of course if you do, it would be a guarantee that it would rain all summer ;-) but then you could still work outside without getting soaked then. Have a good weekend gents!

Maybe you could get one of them self assembly gazebos Rob. It would protect you from the sun and also the rain when Chris has another vehicle on the ramp thus avoiding holdups.

Feel your pain in this heat lads! Had nothing but van gearboxes, clutches and flywheels to do all week and because of the way the bay i work in is laid out, not only have i got the tin roof to contend with but also the sun on my back all afternoon from about 12 onwards...

Rob this isn’t a C3 Aircross it’s just an normal C3 hatchback. Don’t know who is telling you it’s an C3 Aircross but they need new glasses!! The C3 Aircross is a bigger SUV style Citroen Model smaller than the C5 Aircross. Enjoyed the video as usual 👍

i've gone on about money ,so use some of it for an outside marquee ,to keep the sun off and robust enough for spring and autumn,in the meantime many thanks for the "real world ,warts and all video" you supply .

Great video as usual. I'm currently repairing a C4 Cactus on 18 plate. Cat S from Copart with just under 14k on the clock. No airbags deployed and car was cheap.

Just another day in the motor trade Rob , a challenge on most jobs , I used to love doing dash removals to replace air con roads and heater matrix jobs ,, the info you pass re seat belt and airbag control unit resets on to people is invaluable, and as you say its saving money and recycling , manufacturers should do dashboards where the airbag pod bolts in rather than a complete dash , but they are not bothered, more money for them 👍

Rob it is C3, not a aircross. A aircross sits a little higher and has rod bars. The bubbles on the side are options.

ROB, just a suggestion, can we have a leader board of all the DASH AIR BAG KITS that you’ve had to replace, give them a score OR a time to replace, when you do a new one, Citroen c3 example, just add it in on the list, all the best boys

Hi Rob and Chris it is aC3 ,if the Steering Column is like my french car there is an electronic Steering Lock on that once you turn the key it should come off nice job..

You lads need to buy one of those temporary tents, with the fabric and frame work up above head height. Maybe add some venting flaps to ensure a sudden gust can't pull it off the weighted, flat main pole feet.

Could use with a gazebo you can throw up in hot weather if you're working outside for a bit of shade. Also, for the workshop, you can get portable AC units...Chris could probably throw one together from old car parts that are still good, get it gassed and you have something that blows ice cold

It is crazy how on the production line they can install the dash board in about 5 minutes & it takes us mere mortals a good few hours to remove & install a dash. :)

Great video again gents. It's no wonder insurance is getting more expensive if it's so difficult to repair/replace safety equipment when it's integrated in seats/dashboards like that, and it's also a massive waste too, but it is what it is. It's going to be a cracking motor when it's done so keep it up lads 🙂 even when the heat is beating down on you 😬
