REPATRIATION RESCUE Philippines UK- Preparing To Say Goodbye

April 6th 2020 - The UK Repatriation rescue flights are confirmed to arrive at Siargao airport tomorrow. But despite having paid the £1000 ticket price J's mum is left without confirmation that she actually has a seat on the flight for the whole day. This left the whole family in a state of limbo, but it gave us time to really appreciate what would have been our last day together.
J's mum woke up uncertain of her choices and told us that she was looking for a sign to help her choose whether she should stay with us here in paradise, safe with her son, daughter in law and grandaughter. Or risk the perilous journey from Asia back to UK which seems more and more like the epicentre of the virus and pandemic at this time.
We spent the whole day savouring the tiny moments and soaking in the environment around us. Just waiting for the British embassy to send the flight documents.
The big question is, does Phwah Phwah stay or go?
For now we are going to upload a daily video diary of the Siargao Island Lockdown scenario. This is day 20. Our regular family travel vlogs will resume publishing later.

The Prime Minister just moved to ICU. JUST saw the news tonight. Coronavirus symptoms is worsen. As what I’ve said yesterday travelling here in London is still not essential. So happy to hear that your Mum decided to stay. You’re safe in Siargao guys.

So thrilled that your Mom's staying, I yelled YES with such relief. I live in England in the same city as my family ( my married son and their little girl) and we're still separated! I look forward to seeing these videos every day, because it makes me feel good to see how kind, calm, together and safe you all are. This is not a safe place to be right now. Things will get better in time and think how happy you will all be to return to your homes. Thank you for these beautiful videos.

It has been an emotional day for us too. We love Irma just as we do you Jay, Sasha, and Story. We were having a hard time thinking of her safety, of course, but also of the fact that she would no longer be in the videos and no longer an active part of our lives. We know this has been a hard decision, but we are truly pleased you will be staying Irma. The Philippines is one of the great embroidary centers of the world, so perhaps you could talk to some local women and see if they could round up some supplies so you could embroider and perhaps do some other handwork. We love the garden and are with you each day as you tend it. We wanted you to know that the four of you have a special place in our hearts. We look forward to each day of hearing from you. Take care. Better here in the Philippines. I live in Manila. There are no shortages of food here. The travel is restricted. Everyone wear masks just like in any asian country. We take the pandemic seriously. Which is a good thing. We will have mass testing starting april 14. I like travelling too but this time, am glad am stuck here in Manila where we have a very good mayor.

The irony in all these is there are alot of Filipino nurses engaged in the Frontline all over the world. Nurses that do not work ICU are now starting to get called in for frontline training but more as a precaution than an actual necessity. Hang in there. Mental and emotional support is more important than ever the longer this battle drags on. As always, thanks for the vlogs.

Your mom is actually strong and she looks healthy not many can still travel, walk/move freely at her age and that is really reassuring, she'll be well. Hey J, Sacha, and Story. I’ve been watching every one of your Vlogs on Siargao. You had mentioned several times that you miss leafy greens. I’ve been watching other Vloggers on the Island and they got a leafy green delivery from Lokal Tabo . I wasn’t sure if you are aware of this option. There is a Facebook page and you can google delivery instructions. You have to reserve ahead of time.

To stay without a doubt was the right thing to do. If she were to fly, the risk of getting exposed to the virus and possibly getting detained and quarantined with other passengers increases the chances of contracting the virus.

I know this is not easy for your mum making a tough decision. If she goes home she’ll have to face the fear and worry about the Covid-19 that it won’t get her and she would of course miss you guys. If she stay, she will still miss home but need not to worry about the virus because you’re in a safe place and have the freedom to get out more and enjoy the beach and her garden. I’m really happy that she finally made up her mind and chose to stay. I wish the best for you guys and may you all find peace and comfort amidst this crisis. It is more safer there and besides that the experts said that the virus can travel thru air not exactly airborne but since it’s so small(micro droplets) floats in the air. That’s a very good decision on her part right now. She can observe the Memorial through Zoom stream as we will do the same here in California. I just my made my own emblems. Just to lift your mother’s spirits, we can meditate on Noah’s day during the Great Flood. Although the rain lasted for 40 days and 40 nights, Noah and his family did not come out of the ark for almost a year. They waited on Jehovah God to give them a sign that the water receded. Their obedience saved them. So no matter where we are, as long as we’re faithful to Jehovah He always protect us and provide comfort, especially in times like this. You, your mother, and your family will always be in our prayers❤️ by the way, Story is so adorable!😍
