You said they would put an access panel where you installed the valves, why did you put the handle that way?

what was failing that it needing replacing. The hot part of my shut off valve isn't working. Could have just been a washer issue, or? ie. wondering if I can fix with plastic washer, or if I should buy a new one. thanks.

the valve wasn't holding if i recall properly i honestly cant remember

I totally agree w/the 1ST post. I rarely, RARELY encountered those valves in my career. Symmons single handle shower temperature/anti-scald valves were top of the line. Watts made a similar clothes washer valve years ago which was also junk. Oatey has taken over this market. Regrettably Made In Taiwan but is what it is. Sad.
